fun. cool
This game is a complete mess. The UI feels unfinished, and while the graphics are undeniably beautiful, they're so cluttered that you can barely tell what's going on. Once you reach the Antiquity era and move beyond it, the game devolves into visual soup. I could write pages explaining everything that's wrong with each of the game's mechanics, but it would take forever. Even after the latest patch, the era transitions are still terribly implemented. There's no sense of continuity whatsoever. Everything you accomplish feels meaningless. You can spend hours carefully planning and developing your cities, only to be forced to tear everything down and rebuild from scratch in the next era. Instead of feeling like you're guiding the same civilization through history, it feels like you're starting over every few hours. That completely kills the satisfaction of long-term planning and makes the whole experience feel disconnected. The game has a solid foundation and impressive visuals, but right now it feels like style over substance. Unless the core mechanics and progression are fundamentally reworked, I can't recommend it.
Game crashes so often in dx12 when the era changes its horrible. Im well above the required specs and it just keeps chrashing. Why wasnt dx11 included in the launch options if the game runs horrible
I started playing Civilization with the fifth entry in the series, and Civilization VII feels like a step back to that era. My main criticism is the lack of many important features. Treaties, international organizations, deeper diplomacy, and many other systems are either missing or far too limited. It feels like a large part of what made the previous games engaging simply is not there. After everything Civilization VI achieved, I expected Civilization VII to build on that foundation and then expand it further through future updates and additional content. Instead, it feels like we have gone back to an early version of the series, just with better graphics. I am very disappointed.
Honestly I was expecting the worst, in reality this is really well working now. I cannot complain on anything as 2k+ hours civ player. Only tiny good point would be to limit the victories to 1 like domination etc like it was in past games. For 20 euro at this game start its well placed money so far.
