Good game but CIV V remains king.

I think Civ 7 turned out great even though it has taken more than a year to get to this point. I even thought it was ok when it was first released even though the criticisms it got at the time were very valid. I also played civ 4 and 6. Civs 5 and 6 improved on 4 by getting rid of unit stacks for instance and 7 has improved everything I disliked about 6, like micro managing workers and the late game. What I especially love about 7 is the versatility of being able to combine leaders and civs, along with selecting mementos. I also like the age transitions and the flexibility these all bring after the recent changes. It's really great. Does this mean that the game is perfect now? No it isn't. It could still use more improvements but the gameplay is very solid. If you can get it with a discount then by all means buy it. Too bad we have to start to pay for DLC's now even though I pre-ordered the most expensive bundle. But then again they're extra content so I do not have to buy them. I'll probably wait for future discounts because there is still much more to explore now. At the time of writing I would like three big things to be improved, apart from more UI improvements. These are: 1. I still find the map very cluttered and unclear, and my biggest annoyance is that when you have a lot of units on the board, it’s hard to tell which one is currently selected. The yellow ring around a unit isn’t enough when many tiles are occupied by districts, buildings, etc. 2. I don’t think the way you win with victory points is ideal. It doesn’t give you a sense of achievement. This is especially true for the space race—I win more often based on points than by actually winning the space race. It’s also a bit strange that you can actually win in two different ways. I would ask Firaxis to decide between sticking to a victory point system or go for hard win conditions like winning the space race or conquering all the capitals. My preference would be the latter. 3. Remember the map and other setting of the previous game. Concluding I would like to say that I find it a solid game now if you're willing to be open-minded to its changes compared to previous versions.

Not much action

On ne voit rien dans cette version. Et je n'y ai trouvé aucun frisson. Je reviens à la version VI, même s'ils vous y font la morale (la guerre : pas bien). Juste un gâchis d'argent et le crépuscule d'une franchise.

Was sceptical at first reading some of the comments as I love the franchise and have been playing since Civ2. But honestly its a really good game if you just give it a go, yes it is different but they're obviously trying something new and I think it works and plays well. Been glued to it for the past 2 weeks. If you can get the Settlers addition for cheap I recommend it for more content. Link to G2A.
