There's a lot of good puzzle platformers on Steam and you can be sure this game is among them but what really sets it apart is the setting, humor and crisp clean design of your two player characters and their unique mechanics which you'll use throughout the levels to navigate and solve whatever pressing issues need your special kind of ministrations. So get to work, this galaxy won't fix itself!
Don't buy this or you gay.
Good idea that is realized quite badly. I really like the core puzzle mechanic and some of its use in the game BUT - it makes you do same things over and over, especially with backtracking in some levels, - really tacky graphics and annoying commentator, - sometimes you slip off the edges, sometimes you don't jump off of the fat guy, it's not very consistent. I had to repeat some puzzles and it was annoying, - if you die, you go back to the last checkpoint WITHOUT coke bottles you collected and checkpoints are not that close to each other sometimes. there is no reason for this, some puzzle games even provide undo buttons. puzzle games are about "aha" moments, when the player finds out the solution there is no reason you should make them do the same things again, it just becomes a chore and uninteresting at that point. I think the core idea could make a much better game.

They say remote play You play Your friend join You control both players ♥♥♥♥ game.
Unpleasant controls, and annoying gameplay. Don't bother, especially if you want to solo it.
4/10 would be way more fun if you could move them both at the same time in different directions why not make it so each stick controls 1 of them
Great puzzle game with hilarious moments when playing together! Love the squeaky sounds!
Shiftlings is a cooperative puzzle-platforming adventure developed by Rock Pocket Games and published by Sierra that takes a simple concept and transforms it into one of the more inventive multiplayer experiences in its genre. Combining physics-based puzzles, colorful science-fiction environments, and a steady stream of humor, the game revolves around two unlikely alien maintenance workers whose lives become unexpectedly complicated after they are thrust into the spotlight of a bizarre intergalactic reality television show. Through its clever mechanics, imaginative level design, and emphasis on teamwork, Shiftlings delivers an experience that is both entertaining and surprisingly challenging. The premise immediately establishes the game's playful personality. Players control two alien workers tasked with repairing problems across a series of dangerous and increasingly absurd locations scattered throughout space. Their jobs would be difficult enough under normal circumstances, but the pair are physically connected by an air-transfer hose that constantly affects how they move and interact with the world around them. This unusual relationship forms the foundation for every puzzle, obstacle, and challenge encountered throughout the adventure. What makes Shiftlings particularly memorable is its central gameplay mechanic. The connected characters can transfer air between one another, causing one to inflate and become larger while the other shrinks. This simple idea creates a remarkable amount of gameplay variety. A larger character can weigh down switches, move heavy objects, or serve as a platform, while the smaller partner gains greater mobility and can reach areas that would otherwise be inaccessible. Nearly every puzzle requires players to think creatively about how to use these shifting sizes to overcome environmental obstacles. The brilliance of the design lies in how gradually the game expands upon this concept. Early levels introduce players to basic mechanics in a straightforward manner, but later stages become significantly more complex. New hazards, moving machinery, dangerous terrain, and increasingly intricate puzzle layouts constantly force players to adapt their strategies. The game consistently introduces fresh ideas, ensuring that the core mechanic remains engaging long after it has been mastered. Cooperative play is unquestionably where Shiftlings shines the brightest. While the entire adventure can be completed solo, controlling both characters at once often adds an additional layer of difficulty. Playing alongside another person transforms the experience into a far more dynamic and enjoyable journey. Communication becomes essential as players coordinate movements, solve environmental challenges, and react to unexpected situations. Success frequently depends on teamwork, and many of the game's most memorable moments emerge from shared problem-solving and occasional hilarious failures. The level design deserves considerable praise. Spread across numerous stages and themed environments, the game continuously introduces new challenges without abandoning its core identity. Every area feels carefully constructed around the central mechanic, creating puzzles that are challenging but generally fair. The progression is handled effectively, steadily increasing complexity while ensuring players have enough time to understand new concepts before being asked to master them. Humor also plays a major role throughout the adventure. The reality-show framing device allows the game to constantly poke fun at its own premise. An eccentric announcer comments on events as they unfold, while exaggerated corporate satire and absurd situations reinforce the game's lighthearted atmosphere. The comedy rarely interferes with gameplay and instead serves to make the world feel more distinctive and memorable. Visually, Shiftlings embraces a vibrant cartoon-inspired art style that perfectly complements its comedic tone. The environments are colorful and imaginative, ranging from futuristic facilities to bizarre alien landscapes. Character animations are expressive and full of personality, helping the two protagonists remain charming despite their unusual appearances. The visual presentation consistently reinforces the playful nature of the experience while maintaining excellent clarity during puzzle-solving sections. The audio design contributes positively to the overall package. Music remains energetic and upbeat, supporting both exploration and puzzle-solving without becoming repetitive. Sound effects provide useful feedback while also enhancing the physical comedy created by the characters' constant inflation and deflation. Together, the visuals and audio help establish a world that feels welcoming, humorous, and enjoyable to explore. One of the game's greatest strengths is its accessibility. The basic controls are easy to understand, making it possible for players of varying skill levels to participate. However, beneath this approachable surface lies a surprisingly demanding puzzle experience. Later stages require precise timing, careful coordination, and a strong understanding of the game's mechanics. This balance between accessibility and challenge allows Shiftlings to appeal to both casual players and dedicated puzzle enthusiasts. That said, the game is not entirely free of frustrations. Certain puzzles become considerably more demanding in solo mode, and some sections may require repeated attempts before the correct solution becomes apparent. Players who prefer action-oriented platformers may also find the emphasis on puzzle-solving slower than expected. Nevertheless, these issues are relatively minor when compared to the creativity and polish displayed throughout the adventure. What ultimately makes Shiftlings successful is its ability to build an entire game around a single clever mechanic without allowing it to become stale. Every new level introduces fresh twists, ensuring that players are constantly discovering new ways to use the connection between the two protagonists. The game demonstrates a strong understanding of puzzle design and consistently rewards experimentation, communication, and creative thinking. For fans of cooperative gaming, puzzle-platformers, and inventive physics-based challenges, Shiftlings offers a highly enjoyable experience. Its charming presentation, imaginative gameplay systems, strong level design, and emphasis on teamwork create an adventure that remains engaging from beginning to end. Whether played alone or with a friend, it delivers a memorable journey filled with clever puzzles, humorous situations, and satisfying moments of discovery. Rating: 7/10
Hello friends, I will now write a review about the game MAD MAX. This game is based on the events from the original mad max universe plus the newest movie called fury road. There are even some easter eggs to find in the game associated with all 4 mad max movies if you know where to look. Yes, there are 4 mad max movies. There not all called mad max, as one is called road warrior, but they all happen in the same universe. The game itself is quite a masterpiece. I believe it is a hidden gem, as some people say, and overlooked. Sadly, the developers did not add anymore story related DLCS to the game to flush it out, like most developers do. I do not believe the game sold very well, hence why there was not any added storyline DLCs. There are some dlc's, but most of them just add new hood ornaments, or a new car type, or some new weapons, but that is it. The gamplay is reminiscent of Fallout games. Although you do not play in 1st view (well i did not, but i think you can at least in the car), there is alot of fighting to do in the game. There is also a great massive map that you can explore around and do things. There are even hidden places you can explore. Don't expect to fully explore every area though. Some are story associated and need to be explored later in the game. Anyways, here is my PRO/CON list: PROS: - A massive world to explore that is open ended. Only your characters skills and strengths and car strength are the only thing stopping you. - Many places to explore. - The story is decent, but this type of story has been done before. - Side quests and Death Races. Expect to be ganged on in Death Races! They are quite interesting racing against everyone trying to play demolition derby versus your character. CONS: - Some people on the forum have posted that certain characters are very ugly. This is done on purpose. After all, this is a post apocalyptic world. If you cannot stand super ugly characters, i suggest passing on this game as one of the characters that hangs around you alot is quite ugly. - There is alot of adult things in this game. This game is not for the young or impressionable. If your worried and are young, i suggest asking a adult around you if you can play it. - The map is not as flushed out as games like skyrim or fallout. There is potentially wasted space. For example, the area where you find a car is almost completely empty. I understand why they did this, but the whole map has hardly nothing on it. - This game could of used MODS and mod support, or even steam workshop support. I image a great modding community would of been involved in this game, but unfortanetly, this never happened, and may never happen in the future. Although the game suffers from some potential flaws, it is good alltogether in the end. I do recommend this game, but be aware it is quite violent like the movies themselfs. If you never seen the full MAD MAX series, i suggest going out and watching it before playing this game. It helps learning about the game before playing it. You don't actually need to see the movies to fully understand and play the game, but it help. One other thing i should mention is this game i think really needs controller support. If your playing on keyboard and mouse, i think it will be much harder.
