About
Shelves And Sorcery is a relaxing fantasy organization game about turning absolute chaos back into order.
Weapons, potions, spellbooks, fruits, vegetables, magical curiosities, and thousands of other items have been scattered throughout three fantasy shops. Pick everything up, find where it belongs, and slowly watch each shop return to the way it was meant to be.
Take your time and enjoy the satisfaction of putting everything in its place, or learn every corner of the shop and race against players around the world for the fastest time.
Choose from three shops of dramatically different sizes, each with its own setting, atmosphere, and challenge. Then return to them in four different modes, whether you want to relax, chase the fastest time, wield every bit of magic from the start, or organize without magic at all.
• Casual Mode – No timer and no pressure. Take your time, enjoy the atmosphere, and organize every shelf at your own pace.
• Timed Mode – Race against the clock and compete on the global leaderboards. Learn where every item belongs, master your Sorceries and Enchantments, perfect your route, and keep pushing for a faster time.
• Archmage Mode – Start with every Sorcery and Enchantment already unlocked. Take on the entire shop at full magical strength and see just how powerful an experienced shopkeeper can be.
• No Magic Mode – The magic of the world has escaped. No Sorceries. No Enchantments. No magical shortcuts. Just you, thousands of misplaced items, and the knowledge you've gained along the way.
1,000+ items to organize
A cozy shop tucked away in the quiet village of Burg. Once a welcoming stop for locals and passing adventurers, its shelves have fallen into disarray. With 1,048 items to restore, it's a comfortable introduction to the satisfying world of organizing.
3,000+ items to organize
A well-loved shop in the bustling market town of Stonebridge, built through years of honest work by its humble merchant. With 3,085 misplaced items, restoring The Merchant's Rest offers a much larger challenge with plenty of shelves waiting to be put right.
4,000+ items to organize
High above the clouds on the floating isle of Vane stands a legendary shop filled with magical treasures from across the world. With 4,066 items scattered throughout, The Grand Athenaeum is the largest challenge of them all. Take your time restoring it, or master every shelf and chase the fastest time.
Thankfully, you don't have to organize thousands of magical objects entirely by hand.
As you make progress, unlock Sorceries designed to help you tackle the mess.
Gather matching items from around the shop, reveal objects you've been struggling to find, or use magic to send items toward the shelves where they belong.
The more you organize, the more powerful your magical toolkit becomes.
Magic isn't limited to spells.
Unlock Enchantments that permanently improve your abilities and change how you move through each shop.
Carry more items at once. Increase your reach. Move faster. Jump higher. Eventually, even take to the air.
Combined with your Sorceries, these abilities can turn an experienced shopkeeper into an organizing force of nature and become an important part of chasing faster times.
Whether you're carefully organizing The Hearth & Barrel after a long day, working your way through the thousands of items inside The Merchant's Rest, or fighting for a place on the leaderboard in The Grand Athenaeum, Shelves And Sorcery is built around one simple satisfaction:
Finding where something belongs...
and finally putting it there.

If you want a game that is good and mindless, this is it! I loved Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library! and have been watching a lot of similar games pop up in the months since. I think this one is the most creative I have seen so far, and the fact that there are 3 different levels that have more and more items that allow for different trialing (timed, all magic, no magic, casual gameplay) etc. allows me to sink hours into this mindlessly. If you are a completionist, the gameplay loop is well worth the price, and the creativity is fun. While Librarian will always reign supreme, this is a close second. I also love that it isn't buggy in my experience. Occasionally, an item spawns outside of the reachable realm, but you can hit a button to bring it back into play and move forward, and that's all that matters to me!
And once again, a game where you simply lose track of time.

In all the AI slop tidy up games on Steam these days, there are a few good ones that don't use AI. Of course, there's Librarian, the one that started all these shenanigans. There's Sort Them Ducks, which does a lot of things right. Then there's this absolute gem. I know I am gonna 100% this game because I can't stop trying things in different game modes. It is the absolute perfect game to wind down with for me. It feels very polished in all the right ways, the QoL is great, the spells are fun and many are useful to me, though not all. I imagine different people use different spells with their own methods of cleaning up the store. The music is pretty good, though even more choices would be nice for when one gets repetitive. My main gripe about the game (if I have to pick something) Is that there are 5.6 billion potions and my store is always littered with bottles at the end of my playthroughs cause those are the items that I just am not fond of cleaning up. I wish there was a little more variety in the types of items that are in the store. It's a magic shop, surely some witchy sorts of ingredients could be included, like flowers, big leafy herbs, more dragon-related things like claws or bigger scales or feathers or fur tufts. Maybe backpacks and cloth bags or sacks, perhaps. Even silly things, like the pots at the ends of rainbows (sans gold), leprechaun or gnome hats, unicorn fangs. Adventurer clothing or armor would be neat too... The possibilities for cool fantasy items are endless! Bigger items that are easier to pick up are more fun for me :) Overall this game sailed past my expectations for what a relaxing simulation game could be. The dev is responsive and kind, and has fixed many things since the game's release. This is one you should support, folks!! 9.7/10 for me, and I am picky as heck.
As as piece of Garlic Bread with the Tism i say unto you: I approve. I respectfully request more.
i think this is my favourite tidy up game so far! very pretty game & ran very smoothly :') looking forward to this one becoming multiplayer hopefully soon!
Definitely recommend this game, i can sink hours into this game, and still want to play more
If you've finished cleaning up the Arcan Library, Shelves and Sorcery is the natural next step on your campaign to tidy up the world.
Had an amazing time 100% it. Looking forward for future updates and new content.
As a tidy-up game in the style of Librarian this needs a shout out because it does a lot of things right. Great item variety, nice cozy atmosphere and visuals, great controls. It does need improvements though. Like other games in the genre I've tried it makes the mistake of introducing some frustrating elements that were not present in Librarian. Whereas that game gave you a specific shelf for each book series, this is way more open, and leaves a lot of room for slightly OCD people like me to get frustrated with trying to get a more pleasant/symmetrical/aesthetic placement of items. Which is made even more frustrating by the fact that items in each category can have different amounts of variations (e.g. not all potions have 4 color variations). The way the game handles books also makes that category pretty annoying and goes against the "relaxing" vibe. As a Steam Deck player I had some trouble using the menus for skill upgrades and some of the text is really small. The default sensitivity also seems off. Still recommended because it's very refreshing and well made compared to the tons of cookie cutter slop that came out chasing this trend.
I love this game, ive had so much fun with it. Its relaxing and i love that you can change the music tracks on the harp, its such a good touch. If you want something to just zone otu to, its your game! Awesome games from an awesome developer!
