⠀⠀⠀⠀⢀⣨⠤⠬⠤⣆⣄⠀⠀⠀⢀ ⠀⢠⢄⣠⠃⠀⡀⠀⢀⠀⢈⣅⡠⡀⠀ ⠀⠀⠹⣸⠰⣉⠆⠀⠰⣉⠆⣇⠏⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠈⡆⠀⡄⠀⢠⠀⠰⠁⡀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⡇⠪⠧⠤⠼⠕⠐⠄⠀⢀⠀ ⠂⠀⠀⠀⠀⡖⠢⠤⠔⢲⠈⠀⠄⠀⠀ ⡰⠀⡠⠤⢔⠓⠢⠤⠔⠚⡲⠤⢄⠀⠀ ⣔⠭⠊⠀⠀⠁⠀⠀⠀⠈⠈⠁⠑⠭⣢

could'nt even get in a game and had to leave some one behind to try. YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY WITH MORE THAN TWO OF YOUR FREINDS
Player base is dead, duo queue takes forever.
Literally 0 players, can't get in a match, even when 4 friends queue up simultaneously. Cannot be in a 4 player lobby as it is locked behind a pay wall. Game does not work, don't waste your time.
Sentience was an attempt at making an abandoned Early Access PvP only third person social deception/hide+seek game. The game features painfully generic sci-fi robots that walk around and you need to go find the baddies. Ho hum. It failed. SteamDB shows the game peaked at just 58 concurrent players, which is a pitiful number. These player numbers only lasted a couple of hours at launch, and dropped sharply within the first 24 hours. Now the game has practically no players, with numbers around 2-3 logging on every week or so then deleting the game. The developers committed to finishing the game around 6 months after launch, which co-incidentally is the time they abandoned it, and that was last year sometime. The game is no longer getting updates, and hasn't had any in around 6 months, so it's dead from both the player and development perspective. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! First up while the visuals seem ok, if a bit low poly, they're also really uninspiring compared to the premium freemium PvP games. PvP gamers have literally thousands of games to choose from, hundreds of AAA games that are either free or cost next to nothing. Games have to actually offer something if they want to compete for players time. Players are forced to agree to a completely useless and unenforceable set of EULAs. How many? 4 EULAs. There's two privacy policies and 2 general EULA licenses. Launch the game, the first EULA. The first privacy policy is linked from that first EULA. Of course, the EULA isn't present where they linked it, and that's where we get the first big clues that the developers are not the sharpest knives in the drawer here. Then once the game launches, before you can get to the main menu, you run into another license EULA and another privacy policy... pretty toxic stuff trying to force the users to accept this, and some of it is questionable in terms of privacy protections. I do not suggest trusting these developers given what we've seen so far. Part of the reason for the game failing was predatory, Pay To Play, feature gating monetization. The game is absolutely infested with nasty monetization schemes. There's literally nothing you could do in the game without the developers breaking down your door and holding their hands out for money. You can't even play in a 4 player lobby without paying the developers. Jokes on them! The game doesn't have four players. Because of this kind of anti-gamer, greedy bullcrap. The developers made the terrible mistake of launching a multiplayer only game in Early Access. This is almost certain to kill the game. Most gamers will evaluate a game only once. If they do so when the game is incomplete, they will check it out, then abandon it (just like the developers did). When (IF) the game eventually does get around to release, there will be no players, because the developers burned the first impressions through their faulty Early Access experience. Players who saw the game and didn't like it because it was incomplete do not come back. Multiplayer games must have a large population if they are to go "viral" and succeed, especially without single player content to fall back on. Releasing a multiplayer only game into early access kills the game population, and thus the game, before the game even launches. The developers made the fatal, lazy mistake of believing that PvP, other players, would be an acceptable substitute for doing the difficult job of adding single player level design, storytelling, NPCs and other rich aspects of designed game content to the game. As a result of this choice by the developers, the game has little to no actual interactive game content. It's a little considered fact that the vast majority of PvP only, multiplayer only games fail. Developers must learn that other players are not an acceptable substitute for doing the job of game developers and building a game filled with content. PvP only games must have a huge player base for them to "go viral" and succeed. But with no single player experience to add lasting value to a game, the developers instead chose to bet against all odds that their game would "go viral" without any actual reason for players to want to play the game. Predictably, they lost this bet.
