In Sell & Spell, become the apprentice of Fizzlewit, an aging wizard that has lost his retirement due to poor investments. As his apprentice, you're tasked with building a shop up from nothing to earn enough money to fund his twilight years and prove your skills as a spellcaster to earn the title of Master Wizard. But beware: the forest you find your shop in doesn't take kindly to strangers. You'll have to use your wizardly abilities to protect your shop from the dangers of the night!
Invest in numerous products to improve your shop's earning potential. Grow your business from a rickety stall to a proper one-stop shop for adventurers of all callings!
When night falls, the dangers of the surrounding forest come to your doorstep. Learn, improve, and master numerous unique spells with different strengths to better protect your shop. Freely experiment with spells to find your favorites!
Upgrade your shop through 5 levels, unlocking new products, decorations, and spells every level. Advance your revenue streams, invest in upgrades, and become the best spellcasting shopkeep in the land!
Don't like the stress of combat? Choose freely between Aspiring Shopkeeper and Aspiring Wizard modes. In Aspiring Shopkeeper mode, you can sit back, relax, and let the money roll in!

I love the idea behind Sell & Spell - it mixes an idler shop game with a surprisingly challenging & interesting defence shooter. The two genres work well together and help prevent either mode from feeling grindy. The game's fun as-is but I really hope the dev keeps working on it - some more balancing could take it to another level. The start's a tad underwhelming but gets better as you go. Pretty easy to get stuck in a "one more night" loop. Works just fine for the steam deck. Art direction reminds me of a better looking classic Runescape, the evergreens are my favorite. Dialogue is funny and the attention to detail is nice (the sun and moon circle the map icon as time passes). Real chill game to play in bed on the steam deck.
Very chill game with a neat concept. The soundtrack and audio work in general is exceptional.
Short and sweet, this game is fun and has funny dialogue, a good sense of progression, and fun daytime and nighttime mechanics that keep it engaging. The main story took me about 9 hours to complete, but I still have a ways to go before I get the final achievements
