Scroll the Pain Away

Really love the concept of this game as well as the art style for it, but the glyph recognition is honestly a pain. It feels like no matter how many times I try to draw it it always comes up with 'invalid'. Despite the inconvient and small flaw, it is still pretty cute :)

[h1]お客様を尊重しましょう。質の良い魔法を提供しましょう。過ちの責任を負いなさい。[/h1] 魔法店を営む店主となり、様々な要望を胸に来店する顧客達に魔法のスクロールを処方するファンタジー職業ゲーム。 描いたグリフの組み合わせによってスクロールに魔法効果が宿る。 [b]属性:[/b]Fire Water Air Earth Nature Electricity Blood Gag [b]形態:[/b]Ball Spray Hands Explosion Lift Push Crush Cleanse [b]魔法の強弱:[/b]Weak Moderate Strong Ludicrous [b]特殊効果:[/b]Sparkles Strobe Illusion Chromatic 以上の4カテゴリー。例として、FireとBallを組み合わせると火の玉を発射する魔法、GagとExplosionでおならが出る魔法が完成する。 要望や雑談をヒントに適した魔法効果を考え、それを実現するグリフを描く。結果を基に調整を施し、より良い魔法を見つけ出すことが基本的なゲームの流れ。 顧客達は柔らかく可愛らしいタッチで描かれ、豊富な会話や購入した魔法へのリアクションによって深掘りされる魅力的なキャラクター性を宿している。 スクロールを作成すると薄暗い店内が魔法の光で溢れる。リラックスしながら幻想的な世界観に浸れる作品。 ここまでであれば癒し系ファンタジー職業ゲームといえるのだが、良くも悪くもこの作品をそれだけでない何かと成している印象的な要素として、[b]顧客の要望に関係無くどんな魔法でも作成できる[/b]。 「庭の植物を元気にしたい」という要望に対して、土壌を改善する魔法を渡すことも、一面に血飛沫を放射する魔法を渡すこともできる。 アイデアの源を求める相手に綺麗な花を咲かせる魔法を渡すことも、凄まじい威力の稲妻が落ちる魔法を渡すこともできる。 顧客は受け取ったスクロールを[strike]疑いもせず[/strike]試し、満足して笑顔で感謝を述べに来ることも、期待が外れクレームを入れることもある。 不手際(もしくは悪意)のレベルによってはそのどちらもできない。 もちろん、これは枠に囚われない想定外の解法を見つける楽しみが用意されているという事でもある。 あなたが善良で模範的な店主であれば、顧客を傷付ける心配はない。

Cute art, music and general vibes; I liked the glowing effect after each scroll was completed too. I do wish the game was a little longer story-wise, and that Indigo had less of an attitude, I was tempted to quit before Day 1 was up because she just oozed negativity in almost every text. The spells also aren't very intuitive and I had to find an achievement guide just to learn that the glyphs had to be placed on top of each other, extra glyphs had to be drawn twice, etc. Giving this a 6/10 since it had just enough good moments to make up for the shortcomings.

While the gameplay cycle is a lesser version of potioncraft, this game does have the potential to scale further than potioncraft if the developer decides to do so. This game has a pretty cool concept of spellcraft despite being rather minimalist.

I gave up after trying for hours to make a single 6-star spell. I looked at the achievement guide here on Steam (surprising it even exists) and, truth be told, it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating. I like the vibe of this game, but this is just impossible to get. It is never explained, just hinted very vaguely once. This game design deserves prison time.

great game, with lots of funny moments as you draw your spells. It is good for a relaxing good time. the smartphone is a nice touch also.
