About
Screeln’s game begins with the end: your death. The rest is a descent into fragmented memories and constructed realities. Using a broken television set as a gateway, you switch channels — each one a surreal stage, echoing a piece of your past.
ScreeIn blends exploration, environmental puzzles, and narrative horror into an episodic structure. Each “channel” is a level designed around a specific trauma, a specific rule, a specific lie. Some are quiet. Some are violent. All are watching you.
As you navigate haunted offices, infinite parking lots, looping corridors, and abandoned domestic spaces, your role shifts. Sometimes you’re a solver. Sometimes you’re the observed. Sometimes you're no longer sure. In every space, you must enter the screen to proceed.
Throughout, strange rules govern each space — rituals you must obey, or break, or decipher. These rules aren’t always written, and breaking them may not mean what you think. To move forward, you must solve puzzles rooted in these shifting logics.
Scattered across these scenes are physical traces of progress — things to be remembered or reclaimed. You collect channel buttons as keys to advance, each one anchoring you to a deeper truth.
The game uses a reverse narrative structure: the further you go, the closer you come to your beginning. In time, you may exit the screen, discover what truly led to your end — or get lost in the noise trying.

Steam
Lumen
Fatal Error”

As someone who had the chance to try the demo before, I feel truly honored to finally dive into the full release today. While I don’t usually play horror games, ScreenIn has given me a genuine taste of the unique charm that psychological horror can offer. Compared to the demo, the full version not only adds new levels but also develops the characters’ backstories in greater depth. These additions gave me a deeper understanding and appreciation of the overall narrative. Spoiler Warning When it comes to atmosphere, there are many details that left a strong impression on me. For instance,
in the “Second Channel” scene, the mirrored buildings stretching both above and below instantly reminded me of the dreamlike visuals from Inception. This clever design effectively creates the feeling of having a dialogue with one’s own inner self. With the music woven in so seamlessly, I felt myself being drawn closer step by step, until I was finally face-to-face with my own heart.
All in all, ScreenIn stands out as a unique psychological horror experience. Its haunting yet artistic atmosphere design, combined with thoughtful storytelling, leaves plenty of room for reflection and emotional resonance. For players curious about the psychological horror genre, this is absolutely a title worth experiencing.
Nice concept, but ruin by poor UE5 Lumen garbage that indie devs should stay away from. No settings option, and <30 FPS on RTX3070TI. Would have done much better stylized or baked lighting. But it's free.
I try to be lenient with free games. But can we PLEASE OPTIMIZE games made on Unreal Engine? Is so bizarre that such a small game makes my graphics card sweat. Also add a menu with actual options as well, if possible. At least to lower graphics settings or adjust audio levels
It is a good game, but it does have some issues, for one the screen tear, and some of the player physics, it feels like your on the moon. It is marketed as a psychological horror i believe but it doesnt really seem like that to me, the closest is level 3, and writing of the levels the level system feels like its lying to me with there only being around 5 levels with 10 spots for levels. this game is a fun game and feels like it could be one of those games that all the youtubers play if it had a little polishing up, a few other complaints is that if you exit you lose all your progress, even if it is only about 30 minutes of gameplay, it is a good game it feels reminicent of the stanley parable, I also wish that there was settings, the motion blur is also a little too much I know motion blur is usually supposed to reduce motion sickness but it made it worse for me. all in all this is a fun games with a few fun mechanics, I like that your able to see your body it feels more like real life, also the end of this review has what i think is a spoiler you have been warned, I think that this is a dream of the protag confronting his insucurities about himself. I also could have missed some things but its still a good game to play for free, even if to me its a one and done game
Warning: AI Slop This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.
"ScreeIN" is not really a game, it's another garbage "art experience" that's been dumped on Steam to evoke feelings of horror, and discomfort. It worked on me when I was horrified by all the disgusting AI slop that the developer had zero qualms shoving onto Steam. AI slop is never okay. So, it's hard to describe this as a game, the focus of the product is more like that of a mildly interactive "art" experience, there's only minor, shallow and uninteresting gameplay elements. The crux of this is to push a mediocre "experience" at gamers of the kind you would normally see in a public art gallery on amateur week. In this case I think the art galleries took out a restraining order when they saw these guys coming... AI slop is offensive to everyone, especially real artists. It's true that games can be art, of course... art is where the pinnacle of creativity, craftsmanship and expertise come together to form something greater than the sum of its parts. This product does a poor job of all of those three. The Mona Lisa would not be hanging in the Louvre if she was drawn as a stick figure in crayon on a napkin. As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here. The assets (the ones that aren't disgusting AI slop) look a little mismatched but they're also much higher quality than the actual game. It's a bit of a red flag for an asset flip, but there's no evidence or smoking gun in this case. While there's no proof, the overall low quality of the actual "game" part (an important part of the whole package that makes up a game) is indistinguishable from an asset flip, and no matter where the assets came from, the quality here is bad .Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? Definitely not. This isn't worth it. I'm paraphrasing another reviewer here, but this should be a paid product... they'd have to pay people to download it. The use of AI slop is a direct insult to gamers and real, ethical content creators and artists everywhere.
We need graphics settings! not just exit and resume! The motion blur is just awful. .. I felt like I was having a seizure with that motion blur permanently enabled!
The concept of the game is interesting and unique!
I don't know what scared me more in this game... the moment when I was at the office and heard footsteps behind me or when I first opened the game and noticed that I needed the numbpad keys to control the TV (it also works with the number keys)!

FIx your game...only the graphic is problematic (motion blur). The concept is a crazy idea!
The motion blur is just awful. You can tell the developer wanted to deliver a message, but the game itself is terrible. There aren’t even any settings to disable motion blur or rebind the controls. It tells you to run, but you can’t actually run, you just have to keep walking without stopping. Play it because it’s free, but don’t expect anything.
