The game certainly lacks polish in graphics and audio, but the core gameplay is interesting and the level design is great. The dev constantly puts in new mechanisms along the levels, making it a charming and enjoyable experience. I look forward to the developer's future games.
All too often, games like Screaming Loaf take me by surprise. The graphics made me think it's probably a kids game but while it's definitely very silly - deliberately so - it's actually a well-thought-out puzzle platformer. The 'toast mechanics' are great! While the graphics are cartoony and silly, this is probably not for kids. Gameplay is surprisingly nuanced - the challenge comes through synergy rather than the actual baddies. Challenging and fun! Drop slices strategically to SCREAM at enemy condiments to kill them quicker. Enemy spawners have a countdown so you have a bit of time to plan. I played just 5 levels, before I wrote this review. I tried a few levels a bunch of times to get the 3 stars. Quirky game, but I like it!
I can easily see this game becoming a cult classic in the future. Its not really my style, but I have to say that the mechanics are novel and all of the level designs are really well thought out. There's no annoying bugs to fight through, just really challenging and humorous content. If you want to hear more, check out my full review with Nevermore Niche: https://tinyurl.com/2s439tz2
this game saved me from a car crash
Nice indie game. Funny concept that has surprising gameplay depth and an original mechanic of being able to duplicate yourself and leave slices around the level, which is crucial to mastering in order to complete some of them. Met the solo developer at Insomnia and had a laugh trying to beat one of the extremely difficult later levels! A great example of the spontaneous creativity of the indie scene - definitely worth buying for the price.
A very silly game with a very silly premise and fairly clever level design. Recommended if you're looking for some light-hearted fun.
黄油飞——我的一生之敌——————(screaming) 关卡设计其实很有意思!流程意外的长(比较手残目前打到37关,黄油太难搞了过不去了),平台解密以及有一定操作的玩家可以试试,晚饭去吃面包片了🍞。
I cant tell if this game is good or not, but I've played 3 hours worth of it and I liked it lol. It's definitely a bit cursed. Appreciate how each enemy has a unique death sprite for your bread lol, and so many powerups.
Bonkers. I love it.
