As others have said, if you are into engineering and building, this is as addictive as crack cocaine. Hours and hours spent descending into a rabbithole of belts and lifts, trains and trucks. The factory never ends, there's always more to learn, a better way of doing a task. Personally, I think this kind of game is exactly what our beefy modern hardware was meant for, and I wish more games used it to be "dynamic" like this one is. Being able to construct an open-world-spanning megafactory as you please, with thousands and thousands of moving parts spread out, and your CPU is still just lazing in your case, doing millions of operations a second and not even breaking a sweat. Its a marvel of engineering, tbh.
do you have autism? yes? get this game do you have adhd? yes? get this game i cant focus and cant play a game for more then 3 hours a day, i have gotten many warning from this game for playing for to long
A 3d, more simplistic version of factorio. You automate production until you build a space elevator. Sure there's a background story going on about "saving earth" or something dumb but lets be real it's barebones and no one cares about it anyways. You are playing this because you want to build a gigantic, automated factory and this game succeeds at making that fun.
All things considered, its a good game, although as a newer player i do have some issues with it, from a "intentional game design vs what i personally find fun" kind of perspective. Im familiar with factorio and new to this one but theyre both good factory games and will inevitably be compared so im just going to summarize what i think is the most important difference. In factorio, expansion is much faster paced. You unlock bulk, fast, long distance transport fairly early on which makes using distant resources much easier, and with an ever evolving threat, youll need to expand quick. In this game, youre stuck with a tractor and truck stops for longer than i think you should be. You CAN run long conveyor belts, nothing will come break them, but it just doesnt feel like what you SHOULD do, somehow. But resource nodes are spread out, and you inevitably have the issue of "move resources from wayyy over there to here" and it just feels like it takes too long before you get a good way to do that. Not to mention with no pressure... im not sure if its my brain but the biters in factorio are great at forcing you to make any decision on what to do next. In this game theres none of that so i spend my time sliding around my factory like a titanfall pilot trying to figure out what the best thing i can do for the next 30 minutes is. Still, its a good game. Very pretty, with a lot of ways to make a good looking factory.
