A admittedly short, but still quite decent game, where both choice and commitment to said choices matter. I personally loved the soundtrack as much, if not more so than the core content of the game. The existence of multiple endings gives it some replayability. The story is surprisingly pretty good for what it is, and if you find the idea of having nun companions appealing, be they pure or corrupted, you'll definitely like this. And all things considered, the price is good. There are some kinks and small glitches that need sorting, but in my experience, none are game breaking; would still be nice to see them fixed. A personal pet peeve of mine; I am generally not fond of AI, though at least here, it hasn't been used as a heavy crux for the game. and the previous points are enough to make up for it. So if only to support the kind of themes this game has, I recommend giving this game a try.
It's a small one dev game which uses AI art, but its story is not bad at all if a bit cliché. The execution was rather competent and the soundtrack is surprisingly awesome, almost wish you could buy it.
Just for note, I had to throw a dice to decide if I should give this game a positive or negative review. It should be a "neutral" review but steam does not have that option. I roll even so as I decided even numbers will be a positive review so here we go. Well, I am not fond of games with AI generated images but I thought that I should maybe give it a chance. Sanctum Protocol had a theme that is not so popular and is to my liking so I selected this game. Well, it was an ok experience. I completed this game two times, corrupted and sacred path. I believe that there are some more endings to see but I had enough. Corruption ending was satisfying where sacred nos so much. Pros: - OK story. Nothing really that good but serviceable enough. Kind of animeish and quite straightforward (no surprises). Only one thing that I would like to have is to have more impact on that story. To feel that my choices matter. Even now I am not sure if some of the options had an impact on anything. - Interesting soundtrack. I wonder if this was AI made or if it was taken from somewhere. - Uncommon theme. There are not so many games that focus on corruption that revolve around angels and demons. It is handled ok here. - Ok characters. Standard waifu game. Try to spend as much time as you can with the waifu that you are the most attracted to and you will be rewarded. Each of them can be corrupted or sacreded. - Ok AI generated backgrounds. For some reason I had no problem with that. Backgrounds are AI but those were good enough. Usually background in visual novels are not that important. Cons: - Unresponsive UI. Not sure if this was a problem with the game or my setup but many UI elements were not visible unless I moved my mouse there. It really was tiring, especially when on the map where you have to select where you want to go. You have to scan that map with your mouse to make those places visible. During the fights hp numbers disappeared when the attack option was selected. There were many more of similar missing elements but it would take too long to list them all. - AI art. Well, it was really not that good. On the steam page it is written that it was reviewed to ensure quality but there was a lot of AI sloppery. Even on the steam page, you can check that screen with a nun, her cross is hanging on one string where the second string is just hanging there. I suspect it should hang on her neck but AI could not handle it. Some characters' pupils were off-centered which was kind of funny to see and taken seriously. - AI H art. There are a lot of them and well, some of them are passable but the rest are bad or even comical. This game should focus on quality instead of quantity. - Game progression breakdown. There is no way to check how many endings there are and how to keep track of them. It would be nice to have some kind of timeline that would hint what was missing and what was already unlocked. It would at least give the player some insight into what is there still to experience (endings etc). - Battle system. It is just to make the game longer without giving too much input to the story. Losing results in game over screen except for one fight but the result is still the same. Basically you can win almost all fights by saving before attacking and if you did more damage than the enemy then you can save and if not then reload and attack again. It would be nice to give fights some meaning, for example how you end those fights have some impact on the story etc. I can only recommend this game if you can stomach AI art and you are interested in the corruption theme. As for me I think that I have enough games with AI art for a while, maybe I will try something that would have "AI assisted art" but not in the raw format as this game has.
