If you like Chess, this is a good game to get. Everything about it is good. I was a chess club member, played all the time... now I am disabled and it is a challenge for me to play the game on Novice level. If I find this game a good value, chances are you will too. Even the music is good. This game has the added benefit of playing offline, allowing you to learn before you play head to head.

great concept on a timeless tabletop game. i only wish that you could modify the camera angles a little more but other than that I have no qualms about this game at all.

It's a decent way to get a quick Chess fix here and there if you're a casual player. The main thing I like is the speed. The pieces move swiftly, and there are no annoying, drawn-out animations of any kind. The ambience is also nice. The AI isn't much of a challenge though, and its opening repertoire is pretty limited, so it gets boring rather quickly, especially since there is hardly anyone to play with online. The biggest difficulty you will have is deciphering what is actually going on on the board, with these huge, wacky looking pieces that end up obfuscating each other half the time. There is also an extremely annoying bug where if you beat the computer, sometimes the game will just soft-lock for seemingly no reason, making attaining unlockables/achievements take much longer than it actually should. If this game weren't only two dollars, I would not recommend it.

The only thing I would change is the difficulty settings, because even on Novice/Easy mode, its kicking my little... clears throat... bottom.. But if you like chess like I do, I recommend this. A score of 6 because it is quite repetitive (as it would be, its chess), music is repetitive, and I would really like an easier mode to enjoy with a cup of coffee while I do a quick training session for my brain.
