Sigh . . . this was an interesting concept, but unfortunately it's been abandoned. There's only ten, maybe twenty minutes of gameplay and it's doubtful that we're ever going to get more than that. Unless you can get it on sale for like 99.5% off (and the game is only two dollars), don't bother. Basically the Bad ending for when you take a gamble on Early Access. Fwiw the writing is . . . okay, it's about as immature as it gets but some people like that sort of thing so whatever. Story could have gone places, but eh, "game not being abandoned" is kind of a prerequisite for that. Oh yeah, I'm not sure how many but some of the achievements are broken, too, so you don't even get that. Oh well.
Very short first-person adventure game that is more like an intro or prologue than an actual game or even first episode of a series. It took me around 15 minutes to complete with very few interactions. On the store page, it says the purchase includes the season one pass, meaning four episodes, but episodes 2 to 4 were never made and will never be made.
As dead as a door nail! Has been abandoned by dev. I enjoyed it; but if you buy it your money will be as dead as this is. Has not been updated since oct 2014
Don't review games often, but here goes. I wanted to like the game, with a style that I thought looked initially striking. But after playing through the first episode, only 15 minutes long mind you, I came to the realization that the visuals probably came about from design limitations. The gameplay is slow, with really only one puzzle in it. The jokes are almost offensibly bad, with the rest of the dialogue seemingly trite. It had some moments where it felt like it was aping Jazzpunk, but never hit as hard. I'll play the next episode when it comes out, but right now I'm just glad this game in a bundle, and not for full price.
Loved the play-style, and the detective noir-style story and animation are great, but I hate the dialogue and the voice of Sam. Was expecting more classic American, not some British trying to be American voice. Sadly the terrrible dialogue and terrible voice really turn me off.
I tried to enjoy this game... twice. -Pros- *Could be interesting the future *Has it's own feel to it -Cons- *Very short with only 1 episode *Humor is very hit or miss *Very expensive for the 15-30 minutes you will play it *Seems like it will not be finished *No real puzzles or interesting gameplay Sam Glyph is a fairly standard type of first person point and click adventure game. Except it is missing most of what makes these types of games great. Altho it does have it's own little sense of humor it really isn't for everyone. Currently Sam Glyph is unfinished, short and fairly poorly executed. I rarely can't recommend a game but in it's current state i just can't. The price point for this is just crazy. Overall score 2/10 The first episode does function and Sam Glyph could be a fairly enjoyable game in the future but i wouldn't count on it. Save your money until the dev chooses to make the game worth the investment. (Or at the very least updates with what is going on)
Badly optimized, Super-brief and simplex, Juvenile Humour all ruin the game for me. This has a lot of good elements - the setting, the characters, the mystery - it's just executed really badly :(
so... episode 1 is abysmilly short i really can't suggest playing it right now but you should buy it and wait awhile so you get a more worth while expeirence. seriously i was watching a youtube video while playing this and the video is still going on while i write this.
this game is really just a joke the graphics are aweful the story is abismal no personality and in my opinion a waste of money
Only at most a half hour of gameplay so far. Achievements aren't working yet. There's only one episode, which is maybe 15 minutes(?) and part of episode two, but they are selling it as "SEASON ONE PASS INCLUDES ALL FOUR EPISODES!" This isn't done enough to not be an Early Access or demo.
