Well, I got it from a bundle and I 100%d the whole game. So, take that as you may. The game devolves into 2 parts: Finding/fixing issues with a client's car and a map-view strategic dispatching game that also has upgrades. It's hard to really talk about the game, so I'll say this much: It's pretty easy to 100%, it runs well and it's pretty simple, so you don't have to focus on it too much. Should you buy it for the full price? Nah. In a bundle? Yeah. Overall 5/10 (All games start off from a 5/10 and rise and lower based on pros/cons)
I think this game is awsome is similar to Euro Truck Simulator 2 the only thing that i would like is an update to actually drive to the vehicle that is in troble overall i love this game
Do not buy, the game looks on the screen shots to be a totaly different game. It looks to me like a case of false advertising, if steam were a UK company i would be going to Trading Standards, however as things are i hope i can get a refund for the game.
Most of the time is spent playing a mini game where you select a truck and click on an icon on a map of someone who is broken down. The bit that would be vaguely interesting takes up a tiny bit of the time and it's really easily solvable. Massive let down of a game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3T-v2zAwYk
A lot of the negative reviews for this game make legitimate points, they aren't wrong, and I don't disagree with the objective statements... YET I believe that whether or not you will be able to have felt good about purchasing it has a lot to do with what you are looking for. Looking for in a gaming experience. This is a simple game which explores a player's capacities for basic management, attention and responses. Immersion is not impossible, yet having high expectations of the product as a whole is unlikely to yield...feeling fulfilled. There are many games out there; many of them are *big* games; many of them demand notable investment, be it of time, decision-making, memorization, characters or emotion / emotionlessness ... and this Roadside Assistance Simulator *isn't* one of those games. As far as I am concerned, this is *not* a bad thing. One thing I didn't like that stood out to me, in Control Mode, is a possibility of effectively decommissioning one of your response vehicles in its garage by clicking on it or on a certain area of its icon or something like that...when trying to dispatch it while in a timed game mode. It happened a number of times, but eventually I got used to it, embracing that I just had to be mindful, careful. It wasn't inconsistent or glitchy or anything...just an odd UI design decision...which can pretty much throw someone's otherwise clean execution in a timed play mode. It's a thing. Truth be told, I have successfully relaxed playing this game, and enjoyed coming back to it. Gaming is one of my favorite pasttimes, but sometimes any demand of investment can conflict with my career, which happens to be in emergency response. RAS has accommodated my enjoyment of the time I've spent playing it (feeling that I have not purely wasted my time or money) while also scratching my itch(es) for accomplishing something *fun*, building something up, unlocking some achievements and some smiles...and not punishing me for not investing deeply in it as a player. It supports a function of being able to maintain or beat personal bests, and honestly has helped this guy to wind down from days (or weeks or whatever) of managing / building up an actual, networked emergency response facility. (a young one, just starting out in the field) I recommend buying it particularly if you can get it on sale. And I think it does not at all deserve a bad reputation. It also does not deserve high expectations, as I have said: it is simple, it seems to be on the shallow side, yet it bears some fun with challenges and development of interest. As someone with thousands of hours in a variety of other kinds of games, I say this is fun. I applaud the creators for this effort, and those who support them, while I also agree that showing only one (1) screenshot of the Control Mode...and exactly one (1) screenshot of the Manage Mode...while showing many screenshots from the Mission Mode...is misleading. And it probably should have been titled "Roadside Assistance Dispatch Sim" or some such. Dispatch is the main means of making progress and expanding the gameplay. No need to ignore this game's strengths (execution of a concept) while pretending that elements *outside of its design* are its weaknesses. I think this game is akin to those squeezy things for building hand strength...you know the thing that looks like just a pair of handles with a spring connecting them...for a lover of gaming progress. It's got some bells and whistles (does it? maybe) and you can feel good about it. Just don't expect a whole lot more! ^^ Graphics 6/10 Gameplay 5/10 Replayabilty 6/10 Epic character development, crafting, auction and dynamic lighting 0.5/10 Fulfils a niche, scratches an itch 9/10 7/10 overall score (mathematics of averages not to scale)
Meh ... I was expecting something like Firefighter or Police Focres 2, but it's completely different, i don't konw how to diefine this ... It's not a bad game, but not even good ...
It's an ok game. Very technical though.
