Interesting freeware, rich in system, short in campaign. Would be epic if modified-capable
Terrible sound mixing and it has artifacts. Voice acting is bad and cringe. Artstyle and the idea is neat. Gameplay is kind of eh. It has potential but is overall isn't very pleasant right now.

Fun game! Love the art style as well!!
Keine Anweisungen, keine Funktionen, kein Gameplay. Weder Equipment noch Waffen lassen sich auswählen. Musste das sein? Also wollte ich stattdessen zwei andere Missionen ausprobieren. Pustekuchen. :P
What do you get when a bunch of woke college students slap a game together for a capstone project? Space Battleship Yamato: Woke Edition - Horrible monotone voice acting. - Very strange movement inconsistencies. - RNG-based achievement not worth trying for. - Horrible aiming mechanics. - Really pathetic death animations. - Woke jokes hidden into dialogue that have no purpose. (Chekhov's Gun) - Poor UI interactions if trying to tab out. - Bloated performance with no optimization. Looking forward to you all graduating and joining the mindless major studios that have made me realize how much fun touching grass can be. The only redeeming quality of the game? Cat. (Without this, you'd lose the recommendation.)
Game of the Year
Default movement controls are as follows:

Forward: W
Backward: S
Left: D
Right: Q
Speed up: Left Shift
Slow down: Left Ctrl
Attempting to rebind left to A and right to D results in the A key turning your ship right, and the D key doing nothing: in fact, after the rebind not a single key on your keyboard will allow you to turn your ship left. There is no button to reset keybinds to default either. After resetting the keybinds normally (left to D, right to Q), I could observe that pressing the Q key resulted in the ship turning left, and pressing the A key resulted in the ship turning right. In awe at the amount of ♥♥♥♥♥ given during development, didn't think it could go below zero.
not perfect but charming, quite short but it's free so give it a go
Enjoyable little game! Although very short and there are a few things I didn't like but on the whole great game, good sound design, exactly the kind of combat i was looking for, ship manoeuvrability is a bit clunky but I think that might be an asset, ship specs have a good amount customisation allowing you to choose between fire power survivability and speed(personally maxing shields and using flaks feels like easy mode, while maxing speed and using rail-guns/torpedoes is more enjoyable). I really enjoy the ship design. I would really appreciate hit markers, or maybe easier to see projectiles so I can lead and adjust my shots easier. I also noticed a few achievements didn't seem to want to pop. It is also very short, tutorial, 2 levels, and a "museum". I noticed the studio seems pretty new (I believe they have one previous de-listed game) so to the devs keep up the great work. While I wouldn't have tried the game if it wasn't free. Now that I have played it I would say its probably worth $3-5CAD.
