Retro Rewind - Video Store Simulator

This game is very addictive and fun, it can be a little repetitive but I don't mind that. There's a lot of fun little things like the movie release titles, the shady dealer and the weird guys on Friday 13th. There's a lot of customisation and the NPC's are quite entertaining. I just wish updates were more frequent as I keep hitting the xp cap too quickly.

As you can see from my playtime, I'm pretty addicted. Great retro simulator, runs well on my PC. The movie names and faces of the customers make me laugh, too. I remember the days of going to a video rental store on the weekend with my parents, so this brings back memories. More updates are planned, including video game rental next. Do hope they add a little more room at some point, my store is pretty full.

I think the game is good but, it could be better. I feel it is missing a way to change the prices so we can either charge more or less for the movies and snacks, especially if they break a movie. Also, I remember when block buster was still around, if you bring a movie back without rewinding them, there was a rewind fee, like couple cents or a dollar. Also, I think it would make things a little more fun if we were able to steal money while we are at the register like if the price is $15 and they give you a $20 bill, I could have a choice to seal the $5, or give them $4.50, or exact change.

So fun!! The game hooked me in right from the start. Lots of customization available and an obvious linear pathway to getting your store to it's full potential. I got a couple mods (nothing game breaking) such as a real movie mod and a montage of trailers to play on the tvs and it felt like such a dream. The game can be as hectic or as easy going as you want it to be. Runs really well, plays great, looks awesome. Has a lot of room to expand upon itself and hopefully they do!! Checks all the boxes for a solid sim 5/5!!

Retro Rewind scratched an itch of organizing and designing. I would genuinely laugh at some of the absurd movie titles. Graphics are pretty good even on Steam Deck (I played primarily on my PC but would occasionally play on the deck). Some of my gripes with this game are the employees falling asleep, customers tossing movies if they got upset, the annoying pointless phone calls and the lack of number of employees I could hire. Having a maximum of 2 employees and 1 cash register felt off balance, and I think employees assigned to Return station should handle customer requests I would recommend this game to people who want to run their own movie store, I'd say this game is a 7/10.

Phenomenal game that truly encapsulates the video store experience. The vibes are immaculate and the sim elements are quite satisfying to play.
