Reviews
Are you more of a casual player and want a real review? Here it is... Some you may have heard some of what is mentioned below before, but for those who have only checked it out once or not at all, then this is information you need to know before investing your time and energy into this platform. The most important thing to know is that the owners and developers of Resonite do not care about the casual player, they care ONLY about those who create. We all know a social game of this type needs attention in both areas. If you don't provide freedom and tools to the creator then the people won't come, BUT if you completely ignore the casual player (like they have done since day 1), then you could have 1 trillion amazing worlds made by talented creators but no one interested. The owners of Resonite seriously need to hire a couple people who have experience in business, marketing/social media, and game development. They clearly care deeply about the platform and what it CAN do but like a broken record I'll keep saying they just do not care about simple QOL improvements for the casual player. This is where they fail massively and are all but guaranteed to be on a one way ticket to bankruptcy. Resonite is currently way ahead of its time and will likely be the guiding foundation of the future for VR social games. The difference is that the future for Resonite is bleak because of everything mentioned about, so they will never be the leader in this space. Just imagine creating something like they have and all of the people involved with the project are completely oblivious on how to run a business that caters to the future? I would bet my home that they will be left behind once VR hardware gets cheaper and flows into more homes (maybe it will never happen at all too, but time will tell). 1) The owners of Resonite have made it very clear that they will NOT be catering to the casual PLAYER. Since the release of the game I've seen hundreds of comments discussing what I'm saying in this review and still weeks, months, and even years have gone by with zero QOL improvements for those casual players. It's important to stress this point again because I'm a very casual VR player and mostly like to explore but there are a lot of people who spend hours upon hours a day on these games for the social aspect. If you don't make things simple for those people then you've failed at the very basics of product presentation and customer convenience. 2) Their social media presence (ex. YouTube) is a complete borefest. You can't attract enthusiasm to a platform with boring videos (it's 2026 and the most common thing that every single person will do who shows interest in your platform is search up your game on YouTube or various social media sites). On the positive side the videos seem very helpful to CREATORS who want to learn more about the updates/abilities that Resonite can pull off. 2A) I can't speak for the other social media platforms Resonite have but on YouTube they continually put out videos letting everyone know their office hours. How about having those interested in your office hours just sign up for a notification and then when they login a popup appears letting them know? In more recent times I think they started deleting the office hours videos after the mentioned day has passed, but Resonite yet again does a disservice to those looking to hear casual updates by continually annoying us with office hours being spammed into our notification feeds. This review was meant to be helpful to others so that they don't waste their time but it was also aimed at the devs as a potential wakeup call. The thing is, I know it is a lost cause because they have been more than clear that they are set in their ways and it's all about those creating on the platform. Guys, you have something special here but take a step outside of your furry tech kingdom for a minute and think about the regular gamer for once. I've only spent about 15 hours between 2 accounts checking in on Resonite since it released and while you've improved performance and some SMAL QOL adjustments it doesn't come close to what is needed. Sadly, for as much as I'd love to recommend this game I can't or won't until you start thinking about everyone. It takes a special kind of person to become a creator & programmer of worlds or games, but at the end of the day if you want people to support your project you have to hire people to put the current team in check and wake up to the real world. I know this review was harsh but the truth is the truth. I started in late 2023 and have purposely waited to leave a review because I wanted to see you all succeed, but you've all made it very clear nothing will change so this is the result of it. Not like one review matters much but people need to know when they are going to an empty social game that is only failing because of its ownerships inability to cater to the average player. Will this review spark change? Time will tell, but I'm not holding out much hope.

As of now no I dont recommend, Theres lots to like and theres quite a few things to dislike. As a new player it will be very hard getting into it, Yes theres tutorials in-game to show you the ropes but the barrier to entry to actually enjoy your time is very hard to reach. Theres just not enough QOL features this game needs more time in the oven The games player base is very stagnant (Since launch) hardly anything is new user friendly. If you want more people to join the community listen to new player feedback but each update is just another technical thing that only experienced players would benefit from. If you enjoyed anyland this game is for you, if you like vrchat it wont be as easy. You need to be really autistic about creating things in this game to get enjoyment
I'm sure it's great if you're autistic about making stuff. I know I am. I'd probably have at least 10k hours in Unity and a multitude of other SDKs and editors or tools if I could track those. But there's nothing here for people who just want to open the game and do something. This game will languish in obscurity for the same reasons that kill games like Dreams - there is nothing to do if you do not like fiddling with SDKs and reading docs to make something funny. That can be fun. Not so much if I'm wearing a hot and heavy death trap on my face all the time. Setting aside the inherent discomfort of VR, the process of "find/make an avatar I like (this is not a stealth-diss on furries), calibrate FBT, and check out some maps" has many more steps than it would elsewhere. Even without the context of being a VRC competitor, Resonite is just so grating to get started in, and consistently log into, and it's difficult to drag my friends into playing. If you're not interested in making stuff or looking at stuff people made, there are people to talk to. There are also people to talk to in VRC. And generally more of them. Maybe the people here are, on average, more interesting though - but that's between you and me. I don't really like how it runs either. And the SDK is garbage.
To summarize Resonite in a sentence: if VRChat is a VR focused Second Life then Resonite is a VR focused Garry’s Mod with Wiremod pre-installed.
one of the best creative outlets you can have, if your a programmer or 3d artist and need a outlet this is your game!
I'll be a bit blunt... if you're deciding between this and VRChat? Ignore Resonite. It lacks a LOT of features that VRChat has. It does not handle lag/latency very properly, on a 3060 RTX the program renders as if you're on a 1080. If a single blip happens on your internet, it junks you back to your home world. Oftentimes changing the graphic settings doesn't absolutely bumpkus to fix your graphics lag--so if you don't have a top-of-the-line developer build computer? Expect to lag. A LOT. In this program. I've had better frames playing SecondLife with all of the settings cranked to max than in this program. Setting up your avatar is JUST as much of a #@$!ing headache. Not only it is much, much, much more difficult to set up, attaching clothing/hair is much more difficult, and if you don't save it EVERY literally 5 seconds you can lose upwards of 6 hours of progress with NO reason given whatsoever. It is entirely random when the program will erase your $#@!ing work. I am sorry, but after being on this program for 4-5 days I've already had my entire evening ruined by the jank garbage this program offers. VRChat is just better in every physical way from network stability, latency and even avatar creation. Don't even get me started on the garbage-tier quality of their full-body tracking garbage which can't track you properly at all. My review will remain at a score of 0 out of 10 until they fix all of the issues I have with this program. And no, the excuse of "They're working on fixing it" isn't good enough for me.
EN: Underrated. Simply underrated, and I don't have a single clue on how VRChat still has any players when this exists. Not only all the things you would get VRC+ for are completely free here... there are also literally DOZENS OF THINGS THAT ARE JUST IMPOSSIBLE IN VRCHAT NO MATTER HOW MUCH DO YOU PAY. THE GAME HAS SO MUCH POSSIBLE STUFF YOU CAN CREATE, DO AND USE THAT THIS JUST CANT COMPARE TO VRCHAT IN ANY WAY AT ALL. just please don't leave in the first 30 minutes, I assure you that the game is much, MUCH more what you might initially think.
If this game was a little more Optimized then it would definitely replace VRC. It has an amazing community, and it's content creation systems are awesome. Would recommend if u have a PC better than Mine
Friendship ended with VRChat. Now Resonite is my best friend :D I REALLY like this game. In some ways it's an upgrade to VRC!
