Nice classic Game

Classic survival horror game. A strong remake of the PS1 version (which is also on Steam now) and the GameCube version after that. The atmosphere of the mansion is brilliant. The way corridors and rooms are designed, the eerie music and sounds. A few surprise attacks here and there. Nice puzzles (although not that hard). Great story too. If you are new to the series and started with this one, it pays off to read the files/memos and such to get a good idea of what is going on. Two types of controls: the classic tank controls from the PS1 days, and a more free-running one. I finished the game multiple times on both. I can't really say which one I prefer, except that dodging on the alternative one seems easier. The tank controls do seem to work better with how the camera work is done in this game, though. The graphics were surprisingly OK to me, even though I had to fiddle around a bit to get a higher resolution, and I used a mod pack that enhanced the background images for better quality. Just don't expect any RE Requiem-level graphics or anything like that. The voice acting sounds a bit flat sometimes, and also sometimes makes no sense — like how someone demands the other go and investigate alone in a haunted mansion. It's a bit odd and funny at the same time, but no big thing. The addition of the Crimson Heads is pretty fun, especially when playing harder modes, where you have to make choices about what to shoot (and burn) since resources get more scarce. This is a game that everyone should have played. It's a great overall experience.
