Resident Evil 7 Biohazard

scary, but not terrifying

A very good horror game with a great underlying story for those who pay attention to the details, though it has some minor flaws. The first half of this game is one of the best survival horror experiences I've ever played. While you explore the Baker house, this game has an uneasy tension throughout that never really lets go until you leave, but it loses some steam in the second half. Unfortunately, this is a common issue in these types of games as resources become more plentiful and the player has more tools to their disposal. This in turn shifts the game a bit more towards an action game, but you get some great narrative context that really puts the earlier events in a new light. I certainly recommend this game to any survival horror fan or anyone interested in their first foray into the genre.
