The first half of the game had me Hooked, made the mistake of starting the game up right before bed just ended up staying up 4 more hours. I heard this game was Not only a great refocus for the RE franchise, but one of the best horror games ever made. and yeah the first half had me on my Toes, Felt Fair, Puzzles felt reasonable. Getting Stalked is a classic.
But man, that 2nd half of the game I was hoping it would end soon, I stopped having fun, maybe its just cus im not used to the map, the enemies, the loot spawns, the playstyle but I just felt like I spent the whole game with blood on my screen, never enouhg healing, never enough Bullets, I feel like im used to this concept in the other resident evils, try to conserve ammo and healing and make less mistakes but man theres just so many of these boring ass molds in every hallway and the block the hallway and you have to take a hit or have to waste ammo, and taking a hit means you HAVE to heal at some point as well. and its just so boring and tedious, how is half the game gonna be trying to not lose all your gear to the same boring enemy. and ♥♥♥♥ the machine gun what a useless piece of junk, same with the flame thrower, it honest to god felt like only the shotgun did anything. and you cant even make shotgun shells, maybe I was suppose to make Enhanced Ammo but I never did, Maybe I was suppose to find replacement guns, I had a model toy shotgun and toy axe i have no idea what those were for. Idk so maybe the tedium was just pure skill issue on my part and I did play the game 99% blind so usually I follow guides and the guides tell me where all the best goodies are so maybe that wouldve madethe run easier but idk. I really would rather just play any resident evil 1-5 remakes or originals then this.
I think it has a great start, characters are kind of neat, Ethan has like one or two goofy lines, hes also a freak of nature idk why hes more terminator then he is normal human but maybe 8 will answer that. Very tedious and weak 2nd half. Kind of good spooky parts and classic puzzle and slight backtracking for puzzles good ol Spencer mansion Vibe. Also the intro area and the salt mines reminded me of re4, theres hints of all the resident evils essence in this game which is cool. but idk leaves a bad taste in the end
Long story short.... Capcom Should Defintely Remake resident evil 3 again and this time Do it Right, yup this whole review was a ruse for me to Shill how bad re3make was and how desperately it needs a directors cut or a redo the Original 3 is peak and the remake doesnt do even a third of the games mechanics Justice
