I tried to give this game a chance, i really did.
i forced myself to play 3 hours of it and it was one of the most boring experiences of my life, and thats not even the worst part about this game.
a few complaints i kept telling myself is firstly, why the ♥♥♥♥ are there a million quick time events, later resident evils have always had quicktime events like evasion in re4 and dodging in re3, but what the ♥♥♥♥ are these?? theres a quick time event for every action in this game, what the hell is going on???
there are markers, need i say more? what do you mean there are markers its resident evil, this is a genuine insult to my intelligence, but i guess the real insult is getting me to play this game in the first place.
why are there 4 campaigns? couldn't be satisfied with 1 ♥♥♥♥♥♥ story you had to make 4 of them? i mean seriously i understand having multiple campaigns, multiple campaigns is what made resident evil 2 so loved, getting to see events from both claire and leon's perspective was awesome, but there is no perspective here, the stories coenside with eachother sure but this is such a misuse of the re2 mechanic of multiple perspectives.
what the actual ♥♥♥♥ was capcom thinking adding a skill tree to resident evil, any other game bro, ANY OTHER GAME and it would have been fine, but this is resident evil.
a personal complaint of mine is where the ♥♥♥♥ is billy coen from resident evil 0, this would have been a PERFECT game to introduce him, but you didnt, and instead you introduced ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ jack muller, who the ♥♥♥♥ is jack muller, are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidding me?? WHERE THE ♥♥♥♥ IS BILLY COEN????
now lets address the elephant in the room, this is NOT a resident evil game, and its not a "not resident evil game" like resident evil 3, because atleast re3 was a good game, and had an awesome story and likeable characters, this ♥♥♥♥ sucked ass, not only did i not enjoy the story in this game, i am insulted that this is a mainline game for the resident evil series.
this game IS the anti-christ of the resident evil saga, and i am ashamed to say i spent 3 hours of my already ♥♥♥♥♥♥ life to play this "game", which only made my life worse, this game genuinely made me angry at my own existence, this game made me so bored i started doing work instead of playing it, i was actively avoiding playing it just because of how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it was.
this game is often praised as a laughing stock for the resident evil series, and i have to say that there is NOTHING funny about this game, it is such an insult, and the fact that this game has a credits section with names of people, PEOPLE ATTACHED THEIR NAMES TO THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PRODUCT, god only knows what they thought they were cooking, they thought they were making an dessert to finish off the absolutely amazing umbrella/wesker saga, but what they delivered was stinky ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with a side of frozen piss.
the only thing this game has going for it is the fact that matthew mercer himself voiced leon, and you know what?? I DIDNT EVEN LIKE THAT, AND MATT MERCER IS MY GOAT, HES MY ALL TIME GOAT OF VOICE ACTING AND THEY BUTCHERED HIM, matt did an amazing job voice acting, but he is not a leon voice actor.
would i recommend this game? yes, play it. if i had to waste my time with this piece of ♥♥♥♥ game so do you, and if you dont play it ill come and find you and make you play it, like that scene from a clockwork orange ill force you to play this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game so you understand my pain and suffering, this is not a good game in any sense of the word, going from resident evil 5, which was an already ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, to resident evil 6, made me genuinely appreciate resident evil 5.
♥♥♥♥ you capcom for releasing this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and severely scarring the ip you worked so hard on, i hope every single person who worked on this game gets some kind of untreatable form of cancer and die in agony, alone, in a hospital gown. and you know what? ♥♥♥♥ you too for reading this review, click off this game's store page and play literally anything else, twiddling your thumbs would be a better use of your time than this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ piece of media.
