a very fun and packed experience. i heavily recommend playing this before the remake, or as an intro to tank control resident evil games. as a warning though, if you're playing on professional, make a lot of saves. the 21 year old game is very prone to freezing and halting completely (surprise) when it tries to load large portions of the map such as the castle due to its 32 bit memory limit, and it WILL piss you off enough to stop playing it for a while if you aren't determined enough. maybe there's a community fix for this, but my only solution has been setting the resolution and graphics to absurdly low and getting through the room with the loading buffer as fast as possible. great game still. capcom is just ♥♥♥♥ at porting stuff.
