It's better than I expected. I feel once I accepted it for what it is, a bit of a dated "action movie" "modern gaming" Resident Evil 3, I was able to laugh with it. Combat can be hellishly unfun, and maybe I'm missing something, but suffering one shot kills really blows in some areas, but I guess it's kinda fun too... I just played on standard. This game has adjustable difficulty in a really bad way. Check out Maxylobes' video on it for some interesting information. I could not stand Hardcore. Story is short and sweet. It's adapting the original to this format, and I think it works. Carlos has some REALLY funny lines, that may be unintentionally funny, but they're so weird that it feels intentional. Maybe it's my sense of humor though. Jill's funny in a similar way, her performance works well as an action movie badass. It all can be just really corny in a way, and I can find humor in Jill saying "hmmm.... now to find the next piece of the vaccine, and then I'll be able to save everyone" after grabbing Component A, but it is corny, and I don't think everyone will vibe with that the same way people can in RE2RE. When this game came out I heard a few complaints about the Jill Ryona, it really doesn't have much of that, not like a Tomb Raider 2013 or anything. Or maybe I'm such a Gamer that I missed all the ryona death scenes.
