Most cinematic experience in gaming today imo. Bladerunner if it had good pacing and a coherent narrative.
I absolutely adore this game. As someone who grew up playing Another World on the Mega Drive and has the Metal Gear Solid series as a top 10 favorite videogames, every moment of this game was a treat. The game is beautiful, one of the best pixel games I've ever seen. There scenes and backgrounds that are simply breathtaking. The story, not only is one that is extremely relevant for the era we are currently living, it's also well thought and human. All the NPCs you meet have something to teach you, ideals and goals. Stories that you progressively discover that impact the overall narrative. The whole development the protagonist goes through is incredible and the plotwists are satisfying and flow naturally with the story and parallels this game focus on. The idea of something that started with a noble goal and then lost itself with time is heart wrenching but not that dissimilar to what we are currently living. The music is on pair with the rest of the game, it's simply incredible and fitting, I can see myself listening to the full OST on repeat for weeks. Mechanically, the game has a lot of a variety, from combat to stealth, to a bit of puzzle solving. I loved each and every single one of them. Combat is also varied with many abilities you unlock as you progress. I didn't know about this game and honestly I can't remember where I've seen the trailer to have it on my wishlist. I can tell you, however, as a late 80s kid, this tickled all my buttons and it's currently my GOTY without question. It's very clear that every bit of what makes this game was crafted out of passion. 50/10 It was a pleasant surprise and one that I will remember. I hope more people will experience this masterpiece and I can't wait to see what's in the future for the Sad Cats. By the way, it isn't much of a reach to ask that next time we can pet them, right? Maybe they no longer will be sad, please consider it. Thank you for this marvelous game, Sad Cat Studios.
Very nice game with smooth and interesting gamepkay, especially the combat. Nice plot also. Recommended!
Amazing visuals, very, VERY beautiful game. Gameplay is alright, nothing extrordinary but still really fun!
Pros Beautiful art style Great atmosphere and ambient design Excellent soundtrack Interesting story Cons The Prince of Persia-style puzzles got boring after a while. Some chapters felt much longer than they needed to be. Certain events were repeated multiple times from different perspectives. There are too many "don't fall" moments. At one point, the character literally says, "Please don't fall again," and then falls again. Combat becomes repetitive because you keep fighting the same enemies. Verdict If the art style catches your eye, it's worth giving this game a try. It's not a masterpiece, but it's far from a bad game. I enjoyed the atmosphere, music, and story enough to keep playing, even though some gameplay sections felt repetitive.
si eres de la vieja escuela y te gusta lo antiguo, de seguro lo tienes que jugar, es brutal.
