Did you think this game was only about saving the world from an army of demons? No. This is a game about YOU. On the surface, it may be a new form of innovative experimental philosophical narrative RPG, but its deeper secrets could make you a god.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. Copies below reflect the player base, not paid sales.

Short and sweet!
If you like to explore every nook and cranny of story dialogue for lore, this game is for you! I'll admit the garish colours threw me off at first, but I've come around to find it simple and charming. The way the world revolves around you as the Chosen One is hilarious when you get to loot towns, off yourself for prestige points, break furniture, and cheat at deadly games (I got myself about a million coins from dodging knives before promptly spending it all on weapons for more xp grinding). I haven't found any endings yet, but I'm aware it gets quite trippy at times.

Originally a $3.99 game that went Free. Repetitive music, tedious systems, and lackluster progression. It has an alright narrative not worth pushing through the gameplay to see more of.

- Overused premise. - Can't rebind keys to walk? - Pointless combat screen animation and music for every non interactive object. - Only one music for combat, NPC dialogue and item inspection. - Clicking on objet while far should make the character move and interact instead of having to click again. - Shouldn't the default save file directory be in the game file? - Interesting vision overall but too much irritating aspects to keep me playing.

"Ren's Demons I" is another case of Itch failing in their duty to contain amateur shovelware... this time it's a minimalist pixelcrap "experimental narrative RPG" which is to say it's a high school anime club dropout fan-fiction about how incredibly intellectual the developer is so why won't girls talk to him. Needless to say this was a complete and utter failure, from deplorably bad graphics to nausea inducing writing. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $4 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
