Reminiscence is a free-to-play psychological horror adventure developed and published by Reminiscence Project that blends mystery, exploration, and puzzle-solving into a compact but engaging experience. Instead of relying on constant jump scares, the game builds suspense through its eerie atmosphere and a story centered on loss, memory, and the dangerous consequences of tampering with time. Its premise immediately sets it apart from many indie horror titles, presenting players with a haunting journey through a family home that exists across two very different eras. The narrative follows a protagonist searching for missing loved ones after the world has been devastated by mysterious events. Equipped with a unique time-manipulating watch, players travel between a peaceful 1950s version of the house and its ruined future counterpart. As exploration progresses, fragments of the family's past and the truth behind the catastrophe gradually come together. Rather than delivering every answer outright, the game encourages players to piece together clues hidden throughout the environment, making the unfolding mystery one of its strongest attractions. Gameplay revolves around the creative use of time travel. Switching between two timelines is more than a visual trick—it becomes an essential tool for exploration and puzzle-solving. Certain paths only exist in one era, while damaged objects in the future can often be restored by rewinding them to their previous state. These mechanics constantly encourage players to think about how time changes the environment and how those changes can be used to overcome obstacles. The puzzles are generally well-designed, rewarding observation and experimentation without becoming unnecessarily frustrating. The house itself becomes one of the game's greatest storytelling devices. Although players spend most of the adventure within the same location, it never feels repetitive because each timeline presents dramatically different sights, sounds, and challenges. The warm familiarity of the past sharply contrasts with the decayed, abandoned future, creating an unsettling atmosphere that grows more oppressive as the story advances. Environmental storytelling is used effectively, allowing ordinary household spaces to become emotionally significant and increasingly disturbing as more secrets are uncovered. Visually, Reminiscence makes excellent use of lighting, environmental detail, and contrasting aesthetics to reinforce its horror themes. The clean, nostalgic appearance of the earlier timeline gradually gives way to dark corridors, ruined interiors, and supernatural distortions that keep players constantly on edge. Sound design is equally effective, using ambient effects, distant noises, and carefully timed audio cues to sustain tension even during quiet moments. Instead of overwhelming players with relentless scares, the game understands that anticipation and uncertainty often create a more lasting sense of fear. While the overall experience is impressive for a free independent project, a few limitations are noticeable. Some animations, technical imperfections, and occasional rough edges reveal its modest production scale. The adventure is also relatively short, meaning players looking for a lengthy horror campaign may finish it in a single sitting. Even so, the focused pacing works in the game's favor by ensuring that new mechanics and story developments arrive regularly without overstaying their welcome. Reminiscence succeeds by combining psychological horror with an inventive time manipulation system that feels meaningful throughout the adventure. Its compelling mystery, immersive atmosphere, and thoughtful environmental puzzles create an experience that stands out among many independent horror games. Although it may not have the production values of a major studio release, its originality and confident execution make it well worth experiencing, particularly for players who enjoy narrative-driven horror with clever puzzle design. Great for a free game .. 7 / 10

Was a fun and relatively quick horror game!
太好玩了
Гра коротка і по факту нудна
sisyphus prime was villain absolute ass game i recommend it
I love a good horror game. What I love more, however, is a good horror game that leaves me itching for the sequel. While I know there are no plans for one, I'd like to give a gentle nudge that despite the game's recurring theme.. it is not too late. I think it would be interesting to expand on different perspectives, or perhaps a prequel type of thing. This game checked all my personal boxes when it is comes to the creepy side of gaming -a good story -a unique gameplay experience -a mystery that leaves room for theory -a genuinely eerie setting I was surprisingly fully immersed in this game from the start. It's simple and the graphics didn't make me afraid for my PC's capabilities, but that didn't affect just how gripping the entire experience was. I'd recommend a good headset for this one, the sounds creeping up behind you added such a nice touch. I have a lot I want to say on the story, but I think it's best to leave it for you to discover. My only complaint would be the almost demonic voice could use some adjusting, but given that this is a student project, I am thoroughly impressed. If you like creepy, twisted stories that leave you feeling a little ----ed up after it's over, don't waste another minute and just play it. It's currently 10:40 am on my birthday and I feel like I just received a very thoughtful birthday present after playing. That being said, a few of the jumpscares caused what I could only describe as an out of body experience. I have never in my life been jumpscared so bad that I felt my soul leave my body. It noped out. Is it ever coming back? I guess I'll find out. The conditions had to be just right for that to happen and I applaud this game for creating that. I am not easy to scare, perhaps from the over-consumption of all things horror you begin noticing the patterns, this game seems to effortlessly break away from it. I'll acknowledge the negative reviews briefly. It's free. It's creepy. It's got a gripping story. It was developed by students. Now, on an entirely unrelated note, I'll coin my recently acquired taste for the phrase "room-temp iQ".
