A pleasant surprise that transcends its cheap price. Enemies are more unique than expected, though you'll take out a few slimes and zombies in level one. The creativity opens up after that and I couldn't help but smile at a few unexpected level themes and silly weapons. A fast food themed dungeon was a highlight. Guns feel good and clearing mobs is satisfying as they explode around you. The art style is reminiscent of Rick and Morty, which pairs nicely with the inter-dimensional theme.
Takes 40 minutes to beat
And that includes exploring every node (room) in the 5-map run, even though you can complete a node just by beating the boss. Get the tactical shotgun and win the game. It needs a lot of work but I was happy enough, beat it in 40 minutes and discovered that's literally all there is. Could use more depth of mechanics, snappier movement, balance in weapons. Something that gives player a reason to do another run after winning. Modifiers, anything. At the low price I paid its fairly decent for a smaller developer. I would think twice about buying it if you want more than a simple but fun, short game.
Super enjoyable, very similar to enter the gungeon
Unbalanced, short, but enjoyable. beat it in an hour.
Reality Core is a high-intensity roguelike top-down shooter that blends chaotic dungeon crawling, looter-shooter mechanics, and bullet-hell action as you battle through the multiverse to recover scattered Reality Shards and repair your ship. CORE GAMEPLAY MECHANICS [*]Procedural Dungeons – Every run sends you into a randomly generated universe with new layouts, enemies, and challenges, keeping each playthrough unpredictable. [*]Looter-Shooter Loop – Collect a wide array of weapons, power-ups, and items as you fight — from shotguns and SMGs to creative fantasy weapons — turning combat into mechanical choice rather than repetition. [*]Bullet-Hell Combat – Dodge patterns and weave through enemy fire while maintaining offense, combining fast reflexes with strategic movement. [*]Extraction Objective – You must survive, grab treasures, and extract back to your ship with Reality Shards to progress, creating tension between exploration risk and reward. ENEMY & WEAPON INTERACTION [*]Enemies vary from zombies to magical foes with distinct behaviors, demanding quick adaptation and reaction. [*]Weapon variety changes combat mechanics — each gun or item affects timing, range, and engagement style. [*]Power-ups and items can shift tactical priorities mid-run. PROGRESSION & CHALLENGE [*]Death resets runs but encourages learning enemy patterns and map flows. [*]Unlocks and permanent upgrades reward mastery over repeated play. [*]Five achievements encourage varied play and completion goals. REPLAYABILITY & PLAYER RESPONSE [*]Positive review sentiment highlights fun, chaotic combat and variety in dungeons. [*]Some players have noted that the lack of auto-fire and certain controls can feel unusual compared to other bullet-hell shooters, affecting mechanical flow. [*]Procedural variation and weapon diversity keep each run feeling fresh. 8/10 – fast, varied shooter mechanics, unpredictable dungeons, and a satisfying looter loop make Reality Core a fun roguelike shooter, even if certain input behaviors may feel idiosyncratic.
