Railroader

It works for a railroading game in early access. It's not bad, considering it's based off of a real place. However.. the modding scene has blown up. Thanks to it though, the railroads we play as get to do all sorts of stuff.

I was skeptical at first because the game world looks really barren and empty, and the game only focusses on US trains. But I gave it a shot because it has multiplayer support and I wanted to play with a friend who already owns the game. I love it! Driving trains, hauling cargo and transporting passengers is so much fun! The locomotives look and sound great. So far I'm only in day 4, still working on the bridge. But I can see myself putting a hundred hours into this game. I hope they improve the popping in of grass and shadows. I usually play with the overhead camera and the suddenly appearing shadows and objects at the bottom of the screen are a bit annoying. And I hope they improve the detail of towns next to make the world more realistic and increase the immersion.

Seems to tick all the boxes. Shunting trains about, moving various wagons around. Tutorial is easy to follow, loads of reading, but worth it.
