Just booted this game up again for the first time in years and remembered how I SO WISH this game had taken off the way it should have. Brilliant concept that so few developers are willing to attempt. UI is very intuitive and you're able to choose to play ships piloted by 1-5 people depending on who's around. Seriously this game did not get the hype it so deserved but maybe we can convince people to try it out (for free because btw it's FREE YALL!) and have those interstellar wars people have been dreaming about. I will be pushing this one with my friend group and trying to get a fully crewed 5-person ship running, if only against the ai.
This is an incredible free game, the only drawback being that not many people play it anymore, but if YOU (reading this review) don't download it, then you are just condemning an awesome free game to this fate. Quintet is great because of the flexibility to play with however many people you have, whether that means a one-man fighter, a medium-sized ship, or a whole battle fleet, with scenarios suited for every number of players. There isn't game progression, but you don't need it in Quintet: the multiplayer cooperative shouting is fun enough. So why not grab one or two friends to download this for free and try it out? After all, if you HAVE always wanted to sit in the captain's chair, there is no better free game you can get: and don't be put off by the idea that you won't be able to man the largest ships because you don't have enough friends: three can easily man a Quintet, and with a bit of practice, even just 2 people can man the largest ships without much loss of combat efficacy. In conclusion, download Quintet and try it, it costs you nothing, and is a lot of fun, even with just two or three people. (By the way, I do know what I'm talking about: I have a lot more hours on Quintet off-Steam (downloaded directly from the developer's website) than I do on it as of writing this review.)

Like to fly ship Need friend to have fun :(
Another case of a really awesome amazing game that died too soon before it had a chance to realize it's true potential. While that may be common what isn't common is the fact that the game has been left in a playable state. Even though it's been officially abandoned it is now free to play, the servers are still online, you can play offline against bots, and there are peer to peer options to play with friends and family. It's an open world space sim where you and several of your friends get to staff a starship of your own and embark on an epic galactic campaign across the stars other ships manned by other players. There are several species to play with, each having their own racial bonuses, and each having ships ranging from one person scouts to five man dreadnaughts. Playing one of the larger ships with a full crew is all about communication and working together like a well oiled machine. It's a great amazing game all that it's missing is players to play it. I'm leaving a positive review in hopes spreading a good word about this underappreciated hidden gem. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3042252945
