I have played this game only a handful of times with my friends over the past almost 2 years now. I saw the combat overhaul update and had to try it out! It was beyond a pleasant surprise for a couple of reasons. The old system grew stale fast, teamwork was just swinging wildly and dodging til your enemy stopped moving. The new system requires strategy and promotes bringing a quest companion or three and displaying good teamwork to overcome enemies. The new leveling system is nice and I hope it expands into "build" customization so characters can fit certain roles. There are quite a few issues as it stands now though. Certain important menus don't function properly and it can easily soft lock you, causing you to restart your quest which is VERY annoying. The equipment menu does not display any of your equipment. The very first quest you initiate provides you with some tools. If you "equip" them, they just disappear. I tried grabbing at my shoulders, my back, waist slots, looking through my bag, checking my equipment/stats page.. nothing! The workaround I discovered was to just "drop" the equipment out of my bag in order to actually use it. You can't even use your other hip holster to hold the tool, what is it even there for? Overall, I love the direction the game is going in. I hope to see some good bug fixes soon and implementation of several seemingly missing features.

Combat used to be actually swinging a weapon and hitting the thing with positioning determining if you got hit back. Now it's turnbased and it doesn't matter where you stand. Honestly feel betrayed because I played this a year or few ago and dropped it waiting for more updates only to pick it up again to find my old save is broken. No armor or weapons or items at all. Sure, an update made the save unreadable, I get that. But then I start a new game to find out it's turn based and I'm like, why?
The game is still in Open Beta and has a ways to go but what it is currently with all the recent updates is great. I own the game on Meta Quest 3 and on PC and play it on both. Its a fun game very much like the old school games Dragon Quest and Ragnarok online and gives the good feels of those games. and with more updates promised and in the works i can see the game only getting better. The dev listens to his player base where it counts and makes changes to better the game for the bigger picture. For the Price and fun that comes with it i say its worth playing.
Digging the Dradon Quest vibes! Love the graphical update. But I went into a cave and now I just get a black screen. Is there a fix? *Edit* There was an update and now it works!!
I've been waiting for a turn based rpg to come up on vr and this one is promising! I like the fantasy setting and hanging out with friends has been fun. Can't wait to see this game grow more!
Not a fan, combat was really bland and the first mission was incredibly buggy. Had to die to actually get the sword in my inventory and then it was incredibly frustrating to equip it.
For the amount of time I played the game before the Turn Based Combat, it was fun and was just the VR Monster Hunter game I was looking for. Then the update happened that made the combat slow, uninteresting and just not what I paid for. There is a reason why this game has literally little to no players in hubs now. This game had potentially and was ruined by turning it into a JRPG when it already had an amazing foundation. I am sorry Astor, but you broke the house by replacing it's foundation and now it's just a shell. You can keep adding content but the core foundation you swapped around doesn't work for this and it's just empty with decorations.

QUEST TOGETHER, developed and published by StudioQT, approaches the MMORPG genre with a clear and deliberate sense of restraint, choosing to emphasize cooperation and accessibility over scale or complexity. It feels less like a sprawling online world meant to overwhelm players with systems and more like a shared space designed for relaxed, communal progression. From the outset, the game positions itself as an experience best enjoyed with others, where the journey itself—rather than endgame mastery or competitive optimization—takes center stage. The gameplay loop is built on familiar foundations, with players venturing through a persistent world to complete quests, defeat enemies, and steadily improve their characters. Combat is intentionally straightforward, relying on a mix of basic attacks, skill activations, and positioning rather than intricate mechanical depth. This simplicity makes the game easy to pick up, even for those who are new to MMORPGs, and ensures that the focus remains on exploration and cooperation rather than mastery of complex systems. However, this same design choice can make the moment-to-moment gameplay feel somewhat repetitive over time, as there are fewer opportunities for skill expression or tactical variation. Where the game finds its identity is in how it structures player interaction. Party-based play is not just encouraged but subtly woven into the design of quests and encounters, making cooperation feel natural rather than forced. Progression often feels more rewarding when shared, as players move through challenges together and collectively build toward stronger characters. This creates a sense of camaraderie that recalls older online RPGs, where community was an integral part of the experience rather than an optional layer. Even routine activities gain a different kind of satisfaction when completed alongside others, giving the game a social warmth that compensates for its mechanical simplicity. Character growth follows a steady, incremental path, with equipment upgrades and skill improvements forming the backbone of progression. While there is some room for customization, the system remains relatively linear, offering fewer branching choices or specialized builds compared to more complex RPGs. This keeps the experience approachable and easy to understand, but it also limits long-term experimentation. Players are less likely to develop highly unique playstyles, and progression can begin to feel predictable once the initial sense of advancement settles into a routine. Visually, the game embraces a bright and inviting art style that reinforces its approachable nature. The environments are colorful and easy to navigate, with a design that prioritizes clarity over detail. Character models and animations carry a light, slightly playful tone that aligns with the game’s emphasis on accessibility. While it does not aim for visual realism or cinematic presentation, the overall aesthetic is cohesive and functional, supporting the gameplay without becoming distracting. This visual simplicity complements the game’s broader design philosophy, making it feel welcoming rather than demanding. One of the more noticeable limitations of QUEST TOGETHER lies in its relatively modest scope. The world, while enjoyable to explore, does not offer the same level of variety or depth found in larger MMORPGs. Quest structures tend to follow familiar patterns, and the lack of significant gameplay evolution can make extended play sessions feel repetitive. Additionally, because the experience relies heavily on player interaction, its overall appeal is closely tied to the activity of its community. When the player base is active, the game feels lively and engaging; when it is not, the experience can feel noticeably more limited. Despite these shortcomings, the game succeeds in carving out a niche for itself by focusing on what it does well. It delivers a relaxed, cooperative RPG experience that values shared progression and accessibility over complexity and scale. There is a sincerity to its design, an understanding that not every MMORPG needs to be vast or deeply intricate to be enjoyable. Instead, it offers a space where players can engage at their own pace, connect with others, and enjoy the steady rhythm of growth without pressure. In the end, QUEST TOGETHER is best appreciated as a smaller, community-focused alternative within the MMORPG landscape. It may not provide the depth or longevity of larger titles, but it offers a warm and approachable experience that shines in cooperative play. For players looking for a casual, social RPG that prioritizes companionship over challenge, it delivers a satisfying and quietly engaging journey. Rating: 7/10
