If you're a cozy gamer you'll probably like this game. It's a cute relaxing puzzle game. Agree with other reviewers that it is similar to yahtzee and sudoku. Probably not something you'll play for hours but its nice to play for a short while.
A cozy and clever take on Sudoku with beautiful visual and sound design
PrimRows is a cute, simple, and intuitive puzzle game. It's like Yahtzee meets sudoku, with cute flowers and satisfying SFX instead of numbers and math. The weekly and monthly challenges provide fun ways to spice up the basic gameplay. It's a great game for casual fans of low-stakes, easygoing puzzles.
Really loving this game so far. Every time I would be playing and wish it had some feature, that feature would be the next thing that popped up. This game is what would happen if Soduko and Yahtzee got into a marvelous collision and had a miracle baby. Great price and will keep your brain from slowly melting.
If you like Yahtzee, this is one for in your collection. The overall goal is to grow the best flower combinations with a limited water supply. One can play 3 modes: Quick play - get the best score in three turns Journal play - fill your score sheet Challenges - A fun weekly and monthly variant with different boards, goals, flowers... If you like Yahtzee, this is one for in your collection. The overall goal is to grow the best flower combinations with a limited water supply. One can play 3 modes after you went to the gardening school: Quick play - get the best score in three turns Journal play - fill your score sheet Challenges - Fun weekly and monthly replayable variants with different boards, goals, flowers... Neatly done.
Really cute, fun puzzle game. Weekly challenges help keep things interesting!
Let's go gardening (and gambling)! Primrows is a neat puzzler that feels akin to sudoku and roll & write games (Yahtzee, That's Pretty Clever, etc.) with its mix of logic and luck mechanics! Each round, you have a 4x4 grid (separated into four 2x2 squares) of flowers that vary by color, and you're tasked with keeping as many flowers happy as you can by making them the only flower type in its row, column, and 2x2 square (otherwise they'll be tired; Not sad, just eepy). To do this, you prune as many flowers as you'd like before watering your garden, and then new flowers will replace the ones you pruned. You can do pruning & watering up to 2 times each round, and when you're satisfied, you can score your garden based on how many flowers are happy. Simple mechanics, but still a fair bit of strategizing you can do to try and maximize scoring! Every time you prune a flower, you're guaranteed to get a different one from the last flower that was there before watering, and this alone can be nice for planning things out! Over time, you'll notice some patterns of flowers to anchor the rest of your garden around (because said color of flowers only appears once in their rows, columns, and boxes), notice some tweaks that might have to be made in order to guarantee that sprouting flowers after watering don't make once happy flowers fall asleep, and maybe play some rounds safe so you don't end up banking less points than you would've if you stopped sooner! What I've described are the basic rules for Quick Play, but the game really opens up in Journal Play, where you have multiple categories to score, from number of happy flowers of a singular color (each color gets its own category), to number of columns/rows/squares with all unique flowers in them. There's even an equivalent to a Yahtzee in Yahtzee: A perfect garden with all happy flowers in it! Having different categories to choose from feels fun, as you can determine what would be best to go for on the fly with each new round, depending on how your garden's looking. Were you hunting for all columns having no duplicates but happened to get all red flowers happy in the meantime? Maybe switch your gears there and score 'em! Already used up a desirable category but have to fill in something this round after greeding too hard? Ouch, better luck next time... The flowers in this mode sprout with pure randomness too, so you could roll into the same flower after pruning and watering! Lots of stuff to keep in mind... On top of this, there's also weekly and monthly challenges where you can try your hand at some remixed rulesets! How about a new flower type that remains happy if it's not a chess knight's move away from another flower of its own kind (Jumping Jacks)? What if the board was 5x5 instead (Five by Five)? Would you fancy a new garden shape in the form of a pyramid made out of hexagons (Pyramid)? They're all pretty interesting to tackle! You're free to replay challenges as many times as you'd like after giving them a whirl, and thankfully if you miss a challenge, it may show up randomly in the daily pick, allowing you to save it to your archive and replay them. Gardening (and gambling) game mechanics aside, Primrows is just a pretty cozy game too! I like the artwork of the backgrounds you can play in (which you can set to change based on what season it is in the northern/southern hemisphere, or you can just choose certain seasons), and all the flowers look adorable! The sound effects are nice too, whether it's the clips from pruning flowers, the sound of dice rolling accompanied by a tune (that escalates with each time you water) as you water your garden, or the satisfying jingles as you score your garden's (especially when you pull off a perfect garden), and it's all done over some ambient background noises to get you in the chill zone. The relaxed vibes and casual yet creative gameplay makes me imagine that this was a game I had played on Club Pogo when I was younger, I like it! If you're familiar with Yahtzee (or any roll & write game, for that matter) and you're looking for some logic stuffs to juggle alongside your luck-pushing, definitely give Primrows a try! May your "aw dang it"s blossom into "I can't stop flourishing"s~
Cute and relaxing puzzler - really enjoyed some of the quality of life features like being able to lock everything in a flower's vicinity with a long press. My favorite part was Primrows Academy, which had bite-sized lessons for how to get better and some simple puzzles to reason through. I also enjoyed the variety in the challenges, e.g. the hexagonal tiles.
