About
A time travel breakthrough at Waldorp-Verr Aerospace Corporation has come under scrutiny from the US Government. An investigative audit goes wrong and the research facility is flooded by a prehistoric lake!
You play as Craig O'Dell, a member of a covert group tasked with rescuing the only scientist who understands how the time portal works!
Primal Rift is a turn-based, single-character RPG set in a flooded research facility.
Note from the Developer:
I set out to make a classic solo-character console-style RPG similar to the original Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest with a few fun twists and no filler. Instead of rescuing a princess in a tower, you will be saving a scientist trapped in a research facility. Instead of swords and magic, you will be using knives and guns. The game also takes place in one large interconnected "dungeon" as opposed to multiple towns and dungeons.

Meet fascinating prehistoric creatures!
Make tough life-or-death decisions.
Wield an arsenal of weapons such as knives, SMGs, rifles, and more.
Climb, swim, jump and most importantly fight for your life!
Tons of secrets to discover!

Primal Rift is an rpg about an oldschool infestation with teeth. Beat it first time around in 2.4 hours using a keyboard. Difficulty is medium. This prehistoric romp was made with RPGMaker, but outside of a few turn-based battles and some pixel graphics, It doesn't behave like a standard rpgmaker game. There's no mindless going around levelling up, no farming for battles, and each part comes across like a thriller/horror game sequence where you collect limited ammo and explore a bloodied expanse of Mesozoic mayhem. Which is positively rad and refreshingly different. The premise of Primal Rift is there is a building full of dinos and you're sent in to rescue people. Only things that bugged me all game were the weird difficulty swing and the slow as nails walking pace. Most enemies you can take out in one or two hits. Then you come across bosses who can take you out in one or two hits. You don't have to level any to beat them unless you want to (except for one unbeatable boss early on), but more often than not you just have to get lucky that the scaley menaces miss their mark on their more lethal moves. But yeah, then you die and have to snails pace your way to fight the same bosses until you get it, or explore to areas you might've missed. Either way, everything is atmospheric and even if you die a few times, it's well worth the Primal Rift experience. Good short game. Great replay potential.

EDIT: There's one thing I forgot to mention. The sound effects for walking around are loud as ♥♥♥♥, so I implore people to lower down the SE setting. Especially if you're wearing headphones.

This game is pretty much an homage to 90's horror games like Resident Evil but it's an RPGMaker game, so it's going to be very janky in its execution. The gameplay is fine. I appreciate that even though the combat is a pure turn-based system and there's random encounters, it incorporates resource management so well that it feels like the horror games it's trying to emulate. While you can level up in this game, it's encouraged to run away if you're running low on ammo. The campy dialogue can be charming at times but I feel it can be eye-rolling for a bunch of people. My only gripe with it is the protag moves like a slug, even when he isn't doing parkour. It's grating because the game expects you to backtrack a lot, especially when solving certain puzzles, and makes getting from point A to B agonizing. Some of the puzzles can also be a pain
especially that rat negotiation.
I recommend people go in knowing that this game isn't the most polished game out there, but I am so charmed by everything else it has, that I WANT to see more games like it.
A fun and engaging RPG Maker game, especially for only a dollar on sale! It's an interesting concept where you shoot dinosaurs in Earthbound-style combat. I like how an animation of your weapon actually pops up on screen. The game isn't too long, an hour on subsequent playthroughs when you know what you're doing, up to 3 hours the first time through when you're learning and experimenting. My biggest complaint is how slow you move and there's no run button. Also no t-rex fight :(. It's difficult in the beginning when you have low health and enemies have moves that do 10x their regular damage. Save often! Also wish there were achievements as they aren't hard to add to RPG Maker. There is new game+ mode which is cool, and if you find a certain item you can unlock a certain electronic device and up the difficulty to the impossible nightmare mode.
Это крутая игра
Really nice little Rpg. It's a bit rough a the start, but overall it is a solid little game.
Basically Dino Crisis: The RPG. Does some unique things mechanically I haven't really seen in other RPGs. Short, but sweet experience
This game was well worth the money its a lot of fun and I really want a sequel I HIGHLY Recommend
es ist zu schwer und die checkpoints sind kacke aber macht hald spass
The game is a bit janky sometimes and a little rough. But for the asking price this is well worth your time. The art is fantastic and the music is pretty good. I am a huge fan of animations during battle, and this is the first time i've seen it done with guns in rpgmaker.
