A seriously underrated game. I first played it back when I was still in school, and at the time I couldn’t understand why it wasn’t just another DOOM. Almost ten years after its release, I finally came back to it and actually finished it and the game really opened up in a completely different way. The graphics still hold up incredibly well, and the gameplay is probably the game’s biggest strength. There’s a surprising amount of freedom and variety in how you can approach different situations. Definitely recommend it to anyone who’s into immersive sims. That said, I strongly recommend playing it on Nightmare with all the difficulty modifiers enabled. Otherwise, once you’ve properly leveled up, the combat can feel way too easy. The main game also suffers from a somewhat limited enemy variety, something the DLC does a much better job of addressing. It would’ve been great if some of the DLC's new enemies had been added to the main campaign as well. It’s a shame the game didn’t sell well enough to justify a sequel, because I’d genuinely love to see more of it.

Hidden gem if you like Bioshock and horror.
If you like System Shock or Dead Space or Alien Isolation, this is an easy recommend.
One of the best games I've ever played. P.S. Pls dont spoil the ending for yourself.
WOW! What a magnificent game. Even all these years later, and with 200 hours of gameplay under my belt, the ending never fails to deeply move me. It is astonishing how brilliantly the game reflects all the facets of the main character's personality through the Operators they created, all while the protagonist remains completely silent. It constantly forces you to question your own choices and shatters the illusion that humanity is the dominant species in this universe. We are incredibly fortunate that circumstances allowed this game to exist before the collapse of Arkane Austin. Words are simply not enough to do it justice. Its legacy will only grow and be remembered as time goes on. Do yourself a favor and play it.
Probably the most underrated game of all time. Talos 1 is one of the absolute coolest game environments ever created. It is the ultimate space station sandbox to explore and interact with as you survive and adapt to the on-going alien invasion. Absolute sleeper gem that is only just now making a resurgence in popularity and discussion. For what it's worth I have an additional 200 hours on Xbox but I couldn't help but get back into the game all these years later to remember why I loved it so much. As a survival horror game, this is a 100% must play.
omfg, this game is awesome mix of rpg and horror, which is itself a damn delicate pair of dice... when the first scene broke and I realized what was going on, I was all in until the end, and then played it all again, and then bought everything else packaged with it...
