Mash'Allah

Fun
Honestly, I like it. I use to play a decent amount of Smite back from the beta through season 6. Play smite 2 mainly now. Predecessor feels fresh, gritty and more modernized, while still having the same team variations as normal MOBAs. Predecessor is probably my second preferred MOBA out there and maybe of all time at this point. The only detractor? Item building isn't explained well. It took me a minute to figure out the shop to be honest, which is embarrassing, but once you get it, this game is like MLBB speed. Good stuff.
Fun moba, would play this over Smite any day. Learning curve which many dont seem to follow but just chill and give tips, comebacks are prevalent- seriously stop pressing surrender because offlane fed again....Onboarding has improved but still needs work so new players know what's up. Paragon veteran, this definitely surpassed it- but still needs some work. Good balance hotfixes and content is on a steady schedule. They have to work on creativity with kits however of newer heroes. Elo hell doesn't exist, blaming team 24/7 = you are the issue. Bad teams do exist however, just simply not all the time. Most smurfs are bad players. Don't have technical issues so not sure what people mean by being 'booted every other game', seems like a hardware or internet issue. Riktor best boy.
I enjoy this game as an avid MOBA player. I believe this game has the potential to become a staple in the MOBA category. I like that the game feels more realistic than other MOBAs in the market. I dislike the size of the minions. They need to be smaller.
As someone who's spent countless hours in MOBAs like League of Legends, I never expected to find a game that captures that same addictive hero-based combat while letting me actually be my character in a beautiful 3D world. Predecessor does exactly that. Every match feels rewarding. The heroes are unique, the abilities are satisfying, team fights are intense, and there's always something new to learn. It has the strategic depth of a MOBA while feeling far more immersive thanks to the third-person perspective. The developers have built an incredible foundation. The gameplay is smooth, the visuals are fantastic, and every update shows they're committed to making the game better. My biggest hope is that more players give Predecessor a chance. It truly deserves a much larger community because this game has the potential to become one of the best competitive MOBAs available today. The more players who join, the healthier matchmaking becomes, the faster the game grows, and the brighter its future will be. If you've ever enjoyed League of Legends, Dota, Smite, or if you've always wanted an MMO-like experience with competitive MOBA gameplay, don't sleep on this game. Give it a shot, you might end up hooked just like I did.
crash and trash game
Predecessor is a competitive third-person MOBA that takes the strategic structure associated with traditional lane-based multiplayer games and gives it the immediacy of an action title. Developed and published by Omeda Studios, it centers on 5v5 battles in which two teams select distinctive heroes, fight for control of lanes and objectives, develop their characters during each match, and ultimately attempt to destroy the opposing side’s core. Its greatest distinction is perspective. Instead of observing the battlefield from above, players directly control their hero from behind, making aiming, movement, positioning, elevation, and environmental awareness integral parts of the strategy. That perspective gives combat a much more physical quality than the typical MOBA formula. Attacks and abilities frequently require direct aiming, while the three-dimensional battlefield allows opponents to threaten players from different elevations and angles. Terrain is consequently more than decoration. Structures can obscure vision, elevated positions can provide tactical advantages, and highly mobile or airborne heroes can exploit vertical space. This makes successful play dependent not only on understanding abilities and statistics but also on maintaining awareness of what may be happening beyond the camera. The hero roster provides considerable variety, offering characters with very different combat styles, roles, movement options, and ability combinations. Some are relatively straightforward and suitable for learning the fundamentals, while others demand careful ability sequencing, positioning, resource management, or mechanical precision. Learning one hero is only part of becoming effective because players also need to understand opposing characters. Recognizing dangerous abilities, anticipating combinations, knowing favorable matchups, and identifying the right moment to attack or disengage are all essential skills. Predecessor retains the strategic qualities expected from a MOBA despite its action-oriented presentation. Individual mechanical ability can certainly determine an encounter, but teamwork remains fundamental. Players must balance farming and character progression with rotations, defensive responsibilities, objective control, and coordinated attacks. Winning an isolated fight means little if the opposing team gains a more important objective elsewhere. This constant tension between personal performance and team strategy gives matches considerable depth and prevents the game from becoming merely a third-person arena brawler. Team fights are particularly entertaining because Predecessor combines spectacular abilities with close-range presentation. When several heroes engage simultaneously, battles can become explosive mixtures of projectiles, movement skills, crowd-control effects, defensive abilities, and ultimate attacks. Successful combinations are extremely satisfying, especially when teammates coordinate their abilities correctly. The drawback is readability. The close camera and abundance of visual effects can make large engagements chaotic, particularly for newcomers who have not yet learned what every character can do. The learning curve therefore involves understanding visual information as much as memorizing mechanics. Presentation is one of Predecessor’s stronger qualities. Detailed environments, elaborate character designs, substantial ability effects, and impactful sound give encounters a level of spectacle that complements the third-person format. Because the camera remains close to the controlled character, abilities feel powerful and movement has a stronger sense of presence. This presentation helps distinguish the game from more traditional MOBAs without sacrificing the recognizable structure that genre enthusiasts expect. Cross-platform multiplayer is another important strength, broadening the available player community and making the experience less dependent on a single platform. Controller support is especially relevant because the game’s direct character movement translates naturally to gamepad controls. Communication remains important in coordinated matches, and the inclusion of cross-platform features reinforces the game's focus on bringing different groups of competitive players into the same ecosystem. Its free-to-play structure makes trying Predecessor relatively easy, although players should be aware that the experience includes optional in-game purchases. The underlying design is clearly intended for long-term play rather than a short, self-contained journey. New heroes, balance considerations, competitive progression, mastery of different roles, and the constantly changing circumstances created by human opponents provide the primary reasons to return. Community involvement is also an important part of Omeda Studios' approach, with player feedback positioned as an influence on the game's continued development. Steam Deck compatibility requires more qualification. Predecessor is not a game I would recommend purchasing a Steam Deck specifically to play, and its handheld experience should not be treated as equivalent to officially optimized native support unless Valve's current compatibility information explicitly confirms otherwise. The game uses Easy Anti-Cheat, and compatibility involving Linux-based SteamOS and anti-cheat systems can change with updates. Players interested primarily in Steam Deck play should therefore check the current Steam Deck compatibility status on Steam before installing. Running through alternative configurations or another operating system may produce different results, but those scenarios should not be confused with guaranteed SteamOS compatibility. The most significant weakness is accessibility for completely inexperienced MOBA players. Predecessor may look like a third-person action game, but underneath the presentation sits a demanding competitive system. Poor positioning, inefficient farming, unnecessary deaths, bad rotations, or failure to contest objectives can have consequences that accumulate throughout a match. Experienced opponents can exploit mistakes aggressively. This can make the early learning process frustrating, although players who enjoy gradually mastering complicated multiplayer systems may see the same difficulty as one of its greatest attractions. Overall, Predecessor successfully combines the strategic foundations of a MOBA with direct third-person combat without reducing either side of the formula to a superficial feature. Its hero diversity, vertical battlefield design, mechanical combat, objective-focused strategy, cross-platform multiplayer, strong audiovisual presentation, and emphasis on teamwork create a competitive game with substantial room for mastery. It demands patience and situational awareness, and its Steam Deck situation deserves checking before relying on handheld play, but on a properly supported setup it provides a distinctive alternative for players who want MOBA depth with considerably more immediate action.
