THIS GAME HAS SERIOUS SPEEDRUN POTENTIAL. It is a very short game but the devs could add more maps or content in the future. The movement is extremely fun and the upgrade system makes the game feel super fast paced which I enjoyed. It is a simple game but if you are looking for a game you can jump into and have some fun for a few hours it is fantastic.

Potion Knight feels like a merge of two different kinds of games. For the most part, it's a fun and tight boomer shooter, but in other parts it plays more like a runner. This is a fun idea, and overall I enjoy it. The one issue I have is that the level design doesn’t always feel like it considers these two aspects as one cohesive whole. At times, it feels like you’re allowed to slide at high speeds, only to be shoved into unbreakable collision objects (and occasionally I got stuck in meshes, like the fountain). It wasn’t uncommon for me to feel that just as I was starting to have the most fun, the momentum would get interrupted. The level design works great for the boomer shooter sections, but it often feels too separated from the runner aspects. I would have loved to see more sections where I had to slide and jump across rooftops while killing enemies. I understand that allowing more rooftop traversal might risk out-of-bounds issues, but limiting it makes the movement system feel underutilized and slightly at odds with the level layout. I would also say that the incredibly fast slide doesn’t always go well with the tighter level layouts. If the spaces were a bit more open, I think the experience would feel smoother and reduce the risk of getting stuck. I would also recommend changing the color of the red enemy to something else. A few times, a red enemy spawned near a red light, which made it difficult to see clearly. I wasn’t a huge fan of enemies spawning behind me when entering a new level segment, as this often boxed me in, especially when I was already trying to jump over enemies ahead. Overall, I think this is a game with a lot of potential, and I do recommend it.
Smooth movement and super dope artstyle (the moon is my favorite). Level design is great too. Overall pretty good game.
Cool game with a really interesting art style! Just because I often mistake a dog for an enemy and try to kill it, I sadly have to reduce the score by 1, which makes it a solid 9/10!
Really cool art and a super fun gameloop
Fast, short and fun first person portion juggler with charming retro PS1 graphics. And Free! More short reviews for hidden gems at my curator page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44819215-Lesser-Known-Hidden-Gems/
Weird mechanics that are very unfun. Not sure how this even got in my library to be honest.
It took me a bit to get a hang of, but once I did it was a ton of fun to slide around, kill enemies and smash all of the items around the map!!
