This ♥♥♥♥ Wheatley undid what i did in Portal 1, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game
yo bro everytime i see this game i feel like i'm in blender trying to understand what i'm doing
The earlier you realize most (not all) Valve games are tech demos, the less disappointed you'll be. You have to be aware of the release date of their titles to judge them accordingly, they're closer to Crystal Pepsi rather than wine. This is especially apparent with their new obsession to make VR games. Also why their most continuously successful games are the ones that break this mold, which are CSGO/2, DOTA and TF2. It just feels so bland, at no point are you left wondering about what'll happen next, levels were meh, It's pretty clear that they were made in a way to show off the technical features of the Source engine and the additions they made onto the first game rather than being fun to play. The level editor was pretty fun to mess around with though. Pretty sad that Source 2 isn't anything to boast about, we know that it's disappointing because the new IP's made under S2 are the biggest failures Valve has ever made yet. It just means that Valve will take their sweet time with HL/Portal to eventually connect them via the Borealis freighter, probably in tandem with another generation of their newfound interest in hardware. It'll just be their IP's to sit on and do pretty much nothing with. Especially considering that they don't intend to share the SDK like they have with the original Source engine, it just gives them less incentive to get on with it.
It's probably the best game I've played - good mix of puzzle and story, with great world building and enough humour to make you chuckle while playing. Highly recommend.

Great
Having finished both the single-player and co-op campaigns a couple of times each, I can safely say that Portal 2 is an extremely polished and simply brilliant experience in every single way. Everything from the tutorialisation and difficulty curve to the environments, story and humour has the level of polish that players have come to expect from Valve. After practising with Portal, which is practically just a prologue to Portal 2, they hit the nail on the head and made a puzzle game that's hard to surpass. There's not much to criticise or talk about that hasn't been said a thousand times at this point. One thing I will say is that while there's more achievements than in Portal, if you happen to have a co-op buddy, they're generally more fun and satisfying to complete compared to Portal's tedious Bronze/Silver/Gold ratings on the challenge maps. I just have to give a shout-out to the end credits song which – like the one in Portal – manages to be incredibly funny and emotional at the same time while also summarising the main events from the game. I occasionally have to go back and listen to them a couple of times to reminisce about Portal and Portal 2 with teary eyes while also smiling from ear to ear. All in all, Portal 2 is the golden standard for puzzle games and might be the point of comparison for the genre even decades after its release. Looking forward to replaying it once again in some number of years!
10 / 10
