Shows potential in this unfortunate social monopoly niche. Gives me early VRChat vibes, obviously has taken inspiration from its golden days. Has a couple features that set it out from the rest & wish the devs the best in its success.
bad and terrible, moderators are inflation activists and all of the players are 5 year olds. runs at 15fps max on an rtx 4080 ti, terrible.
sehr gut!

I can get 2200-5400+ fps uncapped (~indicator of good engine quality), or walking around in Eventide a stable 450-660+ fps (with ramp-down response optimization curve), all while other fullscreen games are running at the same time. The interface is large & semi-transparent, but is clearly defined and(&) minimal, without too much abstract/modern icon nonsense. Maps look & run fantastically in this ~447MB game, & end-2025 announcements suggest the title can handle up to 250 players in an instance (not yet demonstrated), but incurred overhead on clients is unknown. CCK information is behind a registration wall, but copyright details of the main executable shows Unity 2022.3.62.7762112. In-game scripting is done through P/C# (docs.poligonvr.com). It may only need ~1/8th the CPU load & a chunk of the GPU versus CVR or Resonite to run, a testament to how there was/is a dark-age era of software, unmet promises, & lack of capability/knowledge in common industry. Managing some things is a little strange, like favorites lists, or going into/out-of UI menus (browsing worlds; radial depths). It needs more anti-aliasing even on 1440p & 4k monitors at wide view angles for ported maps (usually don't go above 4x because its not a very accurate/clean display technology anyway), & more fully featured display/demo-world interactibles & rich/physics/world features (these are uploaded by common cross-game users but are effectively cannon content & should be the best demos they can be, like swimming, videos, piloting); Knowing where the cursor is in desktop mode without pressing Tab/holding rightclick can be a bit of a funny/annoying thing, but intuitively fell in love with it as it doesn't take up screen space. I'd rather set the background fps to between 3 & 25 (probably around 6 to 12fps) when alt-tabbed for the Low Power Mode setting. Unpacking & loading into only 48MB worlds takes slightly longer than I'd expect on a gen4 m.2 NVMe drive with 32GB DDR5 & gaming CPU, perhaps there are other sub-asset compression algorithms, bundle algos, dynamic per-system algo selection, or other improvements that can be made to speed up the download, cache size & recency/incremental/snapshot sizes, & loading/unpacking, if ever desired. Better UI differentiation between current world sections, like user list, instances, world info, could be done to improve the ability to focus on relevant data with less effort & time, though the bubble style can be pleasing. On EU servers with ~190ms ping according to the menu, I got disconnected rather frequently, but it usually reconnects automatically; However, when trying to host my own public US instance after this, I no longer was able to see my user in the world list so I'm not sure I was actually in a public instance or just private/'off'line. Scrolling to access panel categories is less than ideal, there are more compact ways to display/convey information. PVR Home player sliders hitch when being dragged. Settings audio sliders mayn't always affect world/prop objects. Clicking menus also activate objects behind the menu. Clicking wear an avatar closes the menu. Can't search worlds for e.g. avatar displays, education/walkthroughs, events, or popular hangouts. Menus don't return to their scroll positions on close & reopen. Sometimes clicking an instance region to join doesn't highlight it green, & a single button action to join the preferred/nearest region instance, & create one automatically in the preferred region if not available, could prove useful. This goes along with caching results/listings because sometimes cycling back & forth between categories is needed to get the full list of Trending worlds. Render/view distance for things like fogs in the SCP map are rectangular, & thus outdated (big map though). Needs a bandwidth limiter so other things like gaming, streaming, aren't laggy/interrupted while downloading maps. Active instances category don't accurately represent current status/activity (doesn't refresh). There is no ability to set Twitch or Yo[censored]be videos to a given quality or speed in the PVR Home map, but in Northern Lodge it seems to work (default adjustable per global user preference is better, with failovers for just whatever the available are), & errors or loading status could be much more verbose & robust. I tried with a Twitch stream & it soon locked up with a frozen image, then tried again on a faster connection & it did the same thing. The queue is non-editable. I couldn't get DTube videos or Archiveorg .mp4 audio to work, but an Archiveorg .ogv video & low quality .mp4 video did work. Bitchute worked but the audio/video was significantly desynched compared to web browser tests. The player did kind of work for PeerTubeTV videos for the first few seconds like Twitch, then locked up. Rumble live videos had the same issue as Twitch & PeerTube. Odysee worked well, but again video/audio desynch. The pause/resume button on the map tested wasn't accurate to state after moving to the next URL, but still toggled correctly. X/itter & Bluesky videos are inconclusive but likely don't load through normal links. AVProVideo.dll dates to May 2025, but as we know from many other VR titles, it is wiser to allow the user to choose the more reliable libVLC or Unity default media engines, including others which are more reliable. I figured out how to get the plane test world to work with Right Shift key (engine toggle) & the arrow keys, but it was janky while standing on the tail not being able to look around or be anchored/seated/parented/synched. Noclip & other permissions need to be enabled per instance to be toggleable. This world's glitchiness & my messing with the R utility radial menus (enabling the avatar socket causes the game to lock up briefly) caused the mouse window focus to glitch out, making me unable to click menu items & continue exploring until a game restart. Alt + F4 sometimes needs to be pressed twice in sequence to close the game when not using the settings section button to quit (still faster). Rumors on other platforms suggest that PoligonVR may be host to claimed notorious & abusive/manipulative/power-trip moderators & admin daters (using relationship "throning" to increase influence/control/standing), like B33, ParkBench, SketchFoxsky, & others which have been removed from VRChat or other platforms, but besides only having poor interactions & experiences with one of the mentioned, I have no experience with the others to attest to these rumors or character/social dynamic. Statements that PVR is just an old VRC clone abound. Speculation should be used. Make your own judgements about the legitimacy & stability of the game (according to its possibly infiltrated & corrupt, or alternatively unshackled & inclusive, leadership). You should attain your own experience without bias, toxicity, or closed-mindedness. (At least its not advertising a cryptocurrency) Prop limit is only 4. Users I've talked to desire at least more than the 21 cap in ChilloutVR, & some say 100 per user. I personally like to decorate bare maps with themes using props or get in on occasional shenanigans, so agree here. More to come once I've explored a bit, but, I'm glad I downloaded this.
Very Poligon, many VR. Good Poligon. Highly recommended!
this game deserves a massive community the biggest thing for me is performance. The FPS in PoligonVR is way better and much more stable, and it doesn’t sacrifice graphics to achieve that and it has a lot of potential The only thing it really needs right now is more players, because the concept and foundation are honestly solid
PVR has been very enjoyable for me and my community so far. I run a Law Enforcement roleplay community and have opened a unit on PVR back in October, we are now on most main VR platforms including ChilloutVR and VRChat. My group is hoping for the game to improve and will strive to maintain an enjoyable environment on the platform. The staff have been very welcoming to me and my community and have shown they want us to stay here and have fun on their platform.
Don't get me wrong I love the idea of this game 100% But, I really feel you need to find a group of people willing to create content for this and give it the advertising it deserves. The Community is quite tight-nit, and I love it. But you guys really need to look for creators willing to help.
Controllers couldn't be detected by the game at all. (They were 100% working in the steam overlay screen just fine) Desktop mode was very jittery and slow loading for such a simple world. Huge rip of Vrchat with lack of credit to Vrchat themselves. Found this when Vrchat's servers went down. Its EXACTLY like Vrchat but bootleg.
