About
Polarize is an experimental first-person psychological horror game where a simple job turns into a horrific nightmare.
Tasked with the dull job of printing out pictures and placing them into a container, you must perform your duties whilst being paranoid about the nightmarish creatures that await you outside your office. The lights occasionally turn off, and you must venture out of your comfort zone to restore it via a lever right outside.
Outside of your office (and sometimes in), there are nightmarish shadow people that will attempt to kill you. Equip your instant camera and use it to survive, you have no choice.
You need to plan your way to the lever to end the nightmare temporarily.
Or end it entirely...
A short, experimental psychological horror game intended to be finished in around an hour.
PS1-esque graphics, with unlockable visual effects.
Loads of achievements for any completionists out there
Lots, and lots of secrets, waiting to be discovered

Reviews
This game is a short horror-themed experience with some semblance of a story, although i'm too stupid to figure it out. Don't expect a life changing ending or something that alters your perception of the world, from what I can tell, this game doesn't touch the real world or any of it's issues. Some gameplay elements like the final escape sequence and the few fetch quests seem rushed and kinda just filler; while the escape sequence was just plain bad with enemys that oneshot you spawning right in front of you, and mechanics not fully explained (im looking at you; falling rock segment) The reason why im giving this game a positive review instead of a negative one despite all of the subpar things mentioned above, is because this game is well advertised. Not that it spent a lot of money on marketing or has a large following, but that the game states what it is and delivers on it in a pretty decent way. This game doesn't have any jarring issues that render it nearly unplayable, or anything that would ruin your overall experience, but in return it just has a lot of little things, like introduction to new mechanics and no subtitles, etc that add up to produce a fine but not perfect game. This is mostly due to the development "team" quite literally being one person, minus say free assets and voices. TL;DR: short game with many tiny issues that you should try only if you are bored out of your mind and have $5 to spare

Polarize is a short horror game in which you have to print 120 pictures. Simple enough, you just perform a repetitive task until you can leave. Except it's not. The game constantly throws nightmarish obstacles at you while you try to complete your tasks, and it makes for an unsettling yet enjoyable experience. I encourage everyone to at least give this game a go for themselves, and hopefully you can get the same enjoyment out of this fantastic game! (the boys vibing somehow makes up for that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ jumpscare, ♥♥♥♥ you still, i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate you)
This is my first indepth review, so apologies, now, lets get into it. The horror. Generally, I do believe the idea is great. But the execution just makes me have to give this a negative review. The horror element in this game is odd, in my opinion. For it does not execute it in a usual way. There is no noticeable music that plays in the background, other then the final bosses theme. And the other part of it is a jumpscare that occasionally pops up. The soundtrack. I can't exactly comment on it, since I didn't notice it much. The gameplay. It consists of one of these four things. One, pressing the E button three time, then moving and pressing it again, before pressing the e button again behind you, and moving to the tub, and pressing e. Two, either pressing rmb a few times, or pressing lmb a few times after you press rmb. Before flipping a switch. Three, walking in the large area to do simple tasks for people, getting a lost child, getting groceries, getting cigars, etc. Four, hiding from the finder, before walking over to the next switch and doing it again, three times. The graphics. Its intentionally going for the PS1 style, so I can't knock on it. And now we are in spoiler territory. The final boss. It consists of hitting the resized finder twice, then moving back. And repeating that however many times. Flashing then hitting the creatures inbetween "Phases" before moving forward and repeating the first step, but for longer. Then inputting a code, going through the door, and dying immediately because you die in a single hit, and there are enemies hidden behind the door that only spawn when you go through it. Then you have to repeat it again. At this point, I quit. TL;DR It is a good concept but lacking in execution and experience. Good try though!
Недоразумение
Крайне рекомендую проходить мимо. Для кого и кем сделан этот ужас вообще не понятно. РЕФАНД
Polaroid is an interesting game to say the least but fun and challenging none the less. Polaroid is a classic good horror game with some combat and some stealth later on, I say it is very charming in it's style and feel of the game. You, as a worker for some unknown company is tasked with printing pictures taken from Polaroid cameras around the world (Hence the name) but it doesn't go as planned. When the lights go out you will have to fight off enemies until you can restore the power. as the game goes on you are introduced to new mechanics and characters which is quite refreshing instead of a dimly lit walking sim or a jump-scare ridden fnaf type game. this is an excellent game and is worth every cent! It can be challenging at times but if you push on it can be something truly fun and immersive to play.
This game is so fun when I played it it gave me goodbumps as I thought I would just be pressing buttons the whole time but no it's really exciting for a small time game company
Polaroid is a pretty interesting game, from its style to its substance. The task is simple, input some numbers, and add the pictures to the tray. Spooky stuff may happen, and you can defend yourself with a camera and an axe. The best part about this game is exploring the "shadow village," which is sadly somewhat short lived, but this is a short game. The end of the game greets you with a pretty unexpected but fun boss fight. You can also pet a cat. I was close to the point where I wouldnt want to recommend it, and that is because of the mundane task mentioned before, its simple but has to be repeated 120 times, which is kinda insane. It took me 76 just to enter the village. Some events trigger every now and then, but they start to repeat. It feels that amount is only there to pad runtime, but you rather want a somewhat shorter game than have a longer one turning into a slog. I think the number of pictures should be about halved, and instead add a few more tasks in the village. Thank you Dante, for providing me with a copy, much appreciated!
