Reviews
Pocket Mirror ~ GoldenerTraum is a psychological horror adventure RPG developed by AstralShift and VisuStella and published by KOMODO. More than a simple remaster, it reintroduces the original game with expanded storytelling, redesigned visuals, refined mechanics, and additional content that transforms it into the definitive edition. It preserves the haunting identity of the original while enriching nearly every aspect of the experience, offering both newcomers and longtime fans a beautifully unsettling journey through a world where fantasy and nightmare exist side by side. The story follows a young girl who awakens inside a mysterious mansion with no memory of who she is or how she arrived there. Holding only a peculiar pocket mirror, she begins exploring a dreamlike realm inhabited by strange individuals, each carrying secrets connected to her forgotten past. As she ventures deeper into elaborate castles, eerie gardens, abandoned halls, and surreal dreamscapes, fragments of memory slowly emerge. Rather than presenting a straightforward narrative, the game encourages players to uncover its mysteries through observation, symbolism, and careful interpretation. Every discovery adds another piece to an emotionally charged tale centered on identity, loss, trauma, and self-acceptance. Gameplay focuses primarily on exploration, puzzle-solving, and narrative progression instead of combat. Players investigate detailed environments, collect useful objects, interact with unusual characters, and solve environmental puzzles that naturally fit into the story. The puzzles reward logical thinking without becoming unnecessarily frustrating, while exploration often uncovers optional lore and hidden details that enrich the overall experience. Multiple endings further increase replay value, motivating players to revisit the adventure and make different choices while uncovering story elements they may have previously overlooked. One of the game's greatest accomplishments is its artistic presentation. The handcrafted pixel art is exceptionally detailed, blending fairy tale elegance with unsettling horror to create environments that are simultaneously beautiful and disturbing. Character portraits display a remarkable level of expression, helping convey emotional depth during both dramatic and quiet moments. GoldenerTraum enhances the original release with improved animations, refined environments, updated visual effects, and beautifully illustrated cinematic sequences that elevate the overall production quality while remaining faithful to its classic RPG roots. The audio design is equally impressive and plays a vital role in establishing the game's atmosphere. The soundtrack shifts effortlessly between melancholic piano pieces, haunting orchestral arrangements, and eerie ambient tracks that amplify every emotional and suspenseful moment. Instead of relying on excessive jump scares, the game creates tension through its music, environmental sounds, and unsettling silence. This restrained approach allows the psychological horror to feel more immersive, making every new location both inviting and intimidating as players never quite know what awaits around the next corner. GoldenerTraum also introduces meaningful additions beyond visual enhancements. New story events, expanded character interactions, redesigned maps, fresh illustrations, alternate endings, New Game Plus, and newly animated opening and ending sequences provide additional context and emotional depth. These improvements make the narrative feel more complete while giving returning players plenty of reasons to revisit the game's mysterious world. Rather than replacing the original, this edition builds upon its foundation to deliver a richer and more polished experience. The game's slower pace and cryptic storytelling may not appeal to players seeking constant action or direct narrative explanations. Its emphasis on symbolism and emotional storytelling requires patience, and some plot points intentionally remain open to interpretation. However, those who appreciate atmospheric adventures, psychological horror, and story-driven experiences will likely find its deliberate pacing to be one of its greatest strengths. The game successfully balances mystery, emotional weight, and artistic expression without sacrificing its sense of wonder or suspense. Pocket Mirror ~ GoldenerTraum stands as one of the finest examples of narrative-focused horror created with RPG Maker. Its memorable cast, captivating world, exceptional pixel art, haunting soundtrack, and emotionally layered storytelling come together to create an experience that lingers well after the final credits. By combining meaningful gameplay improvements with expanded narrative content, this definitive edition successfully honors the original while making it even more compelling. It is a remarkable journey into memory, identity, and fear that rewards players willing to immerse themselves in its beautifully crafted world. Rating: 9/10

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Really a fantastic little rpg-maker game with an excellent story that made me for one tear up just a little. Its art and music direction are also beyond superb for $20, it's more than worth it!

Hmmmm......
The music, storyline, and visuals are all excellent, the only downside for me is that the movement doesn"t feel very smooth. well 10/10 <3
Very good game.
This game made me remember why I held rpgmaker stuff so close to my heart way back when. The story is enjoyable and interesting to follow, although not necessarily easy to understand. The visuals are really high-quality, as well as the soundtrack that accompanies them. The gameplay itself is fairly simple, with some specific moments requiring you to pay attention or remember something from before. Additionally, the puzzles are not tedious and can be figured out without being forced to look for a guide or a playthrough; though some endings are less easy to figure out than others.
