Jump inside your oversized mech and deliver some delicious pizzas from your local restaurant. Run and smash some baddies and deliver hot saucer inside someones's mouth smashing building by occasion. Gameplay is good and arcade like. Different types of enemies require different approach like smacking ground or punching mid-air. Avoid enemy's attacks by rolling like a pro. Stages are time limited so gotta go fast and collect that dough, ingredients and time extension pick ups but be careful to not get obliterated in the meantime. Don't worry about collateral destruction - you're paid for delivering stuff. Music will emerge you into gameplay. Visuals are cartoony with some comic book references (Bob Ross, Parappa). Play if you like pizza! 🍕
PS: For ultrawide fix open UnityPlayer.dll inside game folder with hex editor and replace: 39 8E E3 3F with one of the following: (2560x1080) 26 B4 17 40 (3440x1440) 8E E3 18 40 (3840x1080) 39 8E 63 40 (3840x1600) 9A 99 19 40 (5292x1050) AE 47 A1 40 (7680x1440) AB AA AA 40
I want to recommend this game, but I really don't feel like I can. The concept is great. The game looks awesome. The controls and game play itself is great. The issue is the game never moves forward. You can change the looks of the mech, but there are no upgrades. There are no unlockables besides maps and cosmetics. It's essentially the same over and over. I looked up Breakfall's presence and the website hasn't been touched since 2018 and their Twitter is almost inactive. It seems like there's no improvement or DLC or further development for the game. If you see it for a few bucks, great! Grab it! For anything over $5, I wouldn't do it.
The game doesn't really seem to progress in any meaningful way other than you unlocking new maps. You cannot upgrade your mech to make it stronger, faster, etc. Because of that, the game wears thin after about 30 minutes or so as the diversity in gameplay is very limited.
This game isn't actually that bad, but it unfortunately suffers from a lack of variety and repetitive gameplay. The concept is awesome! But the mech is a bit hard to control and feels a little unnatural during turns, the attacks the player can use feel strangely numb and not as satisfying as they should be. The game doesn't let you upgrade your mech as time goes on with better attributes or a skill tree with cool abilities nor does it offer any unique mechanics in future levels or introduce interesting enemies. A random example of a game that takes advantage of offering new mechanics/enemies without actually having any sort of character leveling system/skill tree is a game like Freedom Planet. Technically, every level is the same idea. It's a 2D platformer that has the player run to the right of the screen and make it to the goal, but every level feels unique, has their own interesting enemies/bosses, and has challenges that make them stand out from other levels. Pizza Titan Ultra sadly doesn't do this. Maybe one level takes place with a lot of water and others don't, but that's not nearly enough of a difference to make the level stand out. It's a damn shame too, this game is a great idea but gets pretty stale really quickly.
samurai pizza cats meets crazy taxi! you run around a city delivering pizzas, fighting a army, and collecting money/time icons. on all missions you can "deliver" pizzas through walls or make them on demand (mini game) by adding toppings, cooking it up then slicing it. just understand outside 4 abilities, new areas and some mech customization what you have from the start of the game is what you have at the end. the mech customization doesn't change anything but the look of your mech though spending money will unlock 4 abilities. you can pick one ability before a mission and they are 1)a fast dash, 2)a powerful chest laser, 3)a shield, and 4)a gravity well to pull in money/time icons. you can unlock 8 levels each with 3 missions and a free play. missions are things you're already doing but with a counter like kill X of a said enemy, destroy Y of the city, collect Z of a items, ect. but nothing in the level is different and you can still deliver pizzas for time as you do the missions. its a fun game just know some people will get board because you do not get new attacks as you beat levels. i mean crazy taxi was the same way.
The premise of this game alone is brilliant, the execution delivers as well. The only issue is that it's rather short. Really fun arcade-style game where you deliver pizzas, fight off robots in a giant mech of your own. Fun cell-shaded graphics and easy interface, and it's a lot of fun customizing the mech. The chapters (storyline) are pretty easy, getting gold on the challenges is indeed challenging, so it's pretty well balanced! I think you can beat the main game in about 4 to 5 hours, and do everything in about 10, give or take for skill level (I'm sure there are gamers a lot better than me who can do it faster, and ones who are slower, too).
Pizza Titan Ultra is an older game from 2018. It's a venerable 7 years old at the time of this review. It's also broken and unplayable for many. When launching the game, the obtuse and buggy menu requires several attempts to start the game... which fails, instead presenting a blank white screen. You can quit out of the white screen and back to the menu, but that's it. The developer is aware of this problem and deliberately refused to fix it or maintain their software... but they still want YOUR money for this unplayable game. It's a shoddy console port from a small time Canadian developer. The premise is fine, of course, you're a giant mobile pizza restaurant in a bipedal giant robot and you deliver pizzas by punching them into buildings. From a technical perspective, if you can get it to work (probably not) the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. PC gamers will be insulted by the demand from the developer that a console peasant children's toy controller should be used, despite this being on PC. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're developing for, and must never, under any circumstances dictate to gamers how their games are to be experienced. Because this is designed for consoles, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the inferior console gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the console-centric developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for consoles forces upon a game. Once more, console peasants have made gaming worse for everyone. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 14 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 110,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Because the game is broken and unplayable for me, it may also not work for other gamers. This is a solid reason to approach this game with some scepticism. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 110,000+ games on Steam? Pizza Titan Ultra has the preposterous price of $12 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. For comparison, the $12 asking price for this game could get you games that do more than show you a blank white screen, like "Remnant: From The Ashes", "Dead Cells" or "Divinity: Original Sin 2". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
Crazy Taxi Arcade Vibes
This game was featured in my Lost on Steam segment where I take a look at lesser known Steam games. Check it out in the links below. Rather watch than read? Me too: https://youtu.be/wk2HU7yCBZw Pizza Titan Ultra is an interesting take on what happens if you had a Crazy Taxi-like game fused with Gundam Wing and Blast Corps from the N64 era. While the idea of these concepts together seems great on paper, the game fails to deliver on keeping the pace frantic and tense to keep you coming back for more. The game is fun for a short while but will fail to keep interest high pretty quickly. It would be a much better experience if they found a way to keep the player moving. The constant stop / starting of your momentum really pulls the fun out of this game for me and the enemies feel like an afterhtought. I do unboxing videos for gaming! If you want to check out the highlights you can see that here: https://youtu.be/wk2HU7yCBZw Thanks guys!
This game is an absolute masterpiece. A shame it's largely unknown. I only found it by chance, when one night, I drunkenly decided to play some trash I've never played from my library, and was pleasantly surprised as the main menu greeted me with an absolute banger. The gameplay is fun and definitely picks up in challenge as the game progresses at a good pace. The music is great, the absolute load of references fuel my hyperactive mind and the art gorgeous.
