Extremely fun, fast paced piece. I am not really good at games usually, but this game made me want to get better and better as I wanted to explore more and more of the level design. The visuals are just stunning! I find it a bit hard to master, but that just might be a motivation for some (just like me)
Great
Don’t let the cute, maybe slightly childish graphics fool you: the game is seriously difficult and can get pretty frustrating at times. I like that you can’t just get through the levels by spamming the grappling hook. Sometimes you actually have to stop and think about which route to take. I would recommend the game only to those who don’t tilt easily.

So far so good. Cant wait to see it all. Highly recommend!!!
Rather challenging, yet incredibly cozy game! I am genuinely impressed by how smoothly it plays and feels. I love all the various environments and the various puzzle levels but I think it would be cool to have a level builder or something similar involved so that people can create their own environment.
Pretty fun platformer, the difficulty is just right, reminds me a lot of good old Spelunky with modern visuals and a lot of new ideas. Performance is also great as it runs well on SteamDeck and it is a perfect game for it.
Just to be completely transparent, I was gifted a copy of Pit Panic for my Steam Deck but I'd already purchased the game on Series X....a version that I've played for around 6 hours. Right, first up let's get the compatibility "unknown" thing out of the way: The game runs a solid 60fps in hand-held mode and although there's a good selection of settings to trial and error for improved performance, 1080p is pretty much as good as it gets when docked if you want a solid 60fps without the GPU maxing out and the internal fan screaming at you. The supplied controller setup works perfectly and the deck's keyboard is not required. Ok, onto the game. There's not really a great deal of point discussing every single gameplay aspect because they're widely available to view elsewhere so I'll give a brief overview instead. Pit Panic is basically a points scoring speedrunner in which you advance up a randomly generated temple by shooting blocks in order to clear a pathway. If you reach and kill the level 1 boss you unlock a 'Daily Dare' challenge where you compete against others on a preset map for a hiscore. Completing the game will unlock a second game mode which I really don't know anything about because, erm, I haven't completed the game. There's also an online leaderboard for you to register a hiscore whether you complete any of the above tasks or not. Yes, I know levels are randomly generated and any given run can be easier/harder than the previous one, but the good thing is that your game seed is also displayed alongside your hiscore.....so you can have a crack at beating a score above you with their game seed if you so desire. A system that introduces an element of fairness/parity when hunting down hiscores. My personal positives: Online leaderboards. Pit Panic is an extremely challenging arcade platformer so it's kind of important that the the die-retry loop is broken with something meaningful to avoid repetition...and leaderboards fill that gap, with the added bonus of possibly being the first to find the ultimate seed to propel you up that leaderboard. I also like the visual style. It's clean with no screen clutter or eye-melting fx and has a good overall arcade feel about it. Not on the same level of sprite based coin-ops but certainly a cut aboth those pixel art games that try to emulate a bygone era. Overall though, Pit Panic doesn't try to be too clever - it gives you a job to do and just lets you get on with the process of learning and improving. Right, the not so good stuff: Firstly, it can feel a bit awkward when using a controller and there will be moments where you accidentally shoot the wrong block (making your ascent more difficult) or unintentionally walk of the edge of a block when trying to position yourself for a tricky jump. Secondly, you get 3 lives (with options to add more as you progress) but there are instances where falling items will take all your lives in one hit. Something that can be highly annoying when you're doing particularly well and get a 'game over' for one mistake. Other minor annoyances: Positioning your character tp pick up items can be really tricky. Sometimes random chests won't open even though you have the correct amount of coins. Getting hit by a 'freeze' bullet drives me mad....there are multiple times when you defrost and simply have no time to navigate a jump before being hit again! Oh, and for some odd reason my username is submitted as "unknown" to the online leaderboards. So....to recommend or not! I hate the thumbs up/down system because it doesn't tell the whole story so I'm going to break things down bit by bit. It ticks all the boxes I'd expect from a game of this genre but those fiddly moments can be pretty detrimental if you regularly encounter them. The overall difficulty might also be an issue to some because if you're not into the whole leaderboards thing then you'll be spending an awful lot of time being unsuccessful in your attempt to beat the game....and limits of tolerance will be tested to the max. If truth be told it's also pretty expensive for a something with a single gameplay loop and not a great of variety, so if you're on the fence then waiting for a sale might be your best alternative. All things said, I'm giving Pit Panic a 7/10, which I guess makes it, erm, a single thumb-up.
FONCEZ!!!!!!!
Zábavná hra s jednoduchým ovládáním a příjemnou atmosférou. Ze začátku je nenáročná, postupně nabídne i velkou výzvu. Skvělá hra na odreagování.
