Pel-Pel is a platformer with a lot of charm, difficulty and a huge skill ceiling. My first attempt at the first level took me half an hour to finish. Then I put on my gamer pants, changed my binding to control with the d-pad and finished in 8 minutes the same level. It is DIFFICULT. but if you're willing to learn all the in-and-out of the controls, you'll have a really great sense of flow and it'll feel really satisfying to chain inputs to go hella fast through the level. The game allows you to save mid-level and go back to the level at the exact checkpoint you were struggling with. It is a pretty nice option, given how tough levels are. Overall I'm not done yet, but based on what I've played I'd recommend if you like REALLY hard platformers and momemtum based movements. There's 8 levels, then a sort of Dark Side/Side B/Chase where you have your shadow catching up to you while you fumble your way through the level. Excited to see Streamer fail at that, I'll stay away from it though, thank you. (I am not that good at it but gotta show love cause it's a dev I've been half following on youtube for a while now) Edit: I'll reiterate on the difficulty and say it goes beyond that, almost to make that game seems like a rage game sometimes. The level design is made to challenge you, ok, I get that. but precision platforming, with an element of momentum, makes for very random and frustrating moments. The character will not control the same when you've jumped 2 px away from the last time you did. There's moment where you jump out of surfaces that aren't the floor and it's very inconsistent where Pel-Pel will decide to jump. Sometime will not jump at all because  The spikes, or Pel-Pel's, hurtbox is too big imo (emphasis on IMO). It is already a very challenging game, it'd have been nice to make some accessibility/difficulties options like the following, so we, unskilled peasants, can sort of enjoy it: - make the hurtbox slightly smaller than the picture to allow us to have a little bit more breathing room during precise moment. - allow us to have some sort of 2 hit armor by default. Either when we die too much, or it's just...there. I know it's sprinkled in the level and all, but not on all checkpoints and some need it more than others ._. You can add a malus for using these or whatever, but given the skill ceiling, difficulty, and length of each stages, I think it's fair to give the player a little nudge without feeling like you're letting them away easily. There's probably going to be speedrunners putting us to shame by clearing it faster than expected anyway

Difficult precision platformer with few stages but each with a unique style and features. Plus horrendous controls. The plot revolves around a magician who became a little greedy in her pursuit of relics. When one of the chests is opened, a dark stuff begins to emerge, sucking the magician inside and transforming her into a small goblin. In a desperate attempt, she casts a spell that opens portals to realms where she can find a way to return to normal. The tiny goblin has the ability to double jump, dash through the air, and climb any flat surface. There are no restrictions since she never gets tired. Although dash can only be utilized once each jump, it can be recharged by smashing something or clinging to a wall. The gameplay is fast, which usually means you'll die constantly. Part of it is due to floaty controls that don't always let you go where you want. Or you might just call them broken. For a precision platformer, controls are a mess. Running and maintaining momentum are important aspects of the game. The goblin has the ability to sprint so quickly that it can run up walls and even on ceilings. The only requirement is that the surface has to be curved. You have to start building up speed on the ground and cannot run anywhere. Worlds are filled with threats and enemies that prevent you from getting to the goal too fast. Most enemies can be eliminated with a simple dash, but others require special potions that can be flung at any time. These potions can also be used to destroy metal obstructions. Because you die with a single contact, respawning at the nearest checkpoint is quick. These are invisible, so you don't know where the game saves, but they're generally fair. Each world contains collectibles. Aside from coins, which are generally located on the main path and not that important, gems demand more effort because you must first grab them and then reach a safe flat area to make them disappear. A completed stage unlocks an ever harder version. You don't have to restart the entire stage if you miss a gem, which is an amazing feature. You can jump to any checkpoint and search for a symbol that shows you which ones you missed. There's also a speedrunning trophy for finishing the game as quickly as possible and without dying. Collectibles unlock skins, which can be ignored if you aren't interested. If you find the game or some sections too challenging, you can enable invincibility or unlimited dash. Because you can still acquire achievements, the sensation of accomplishment can be a little weak.
game is fun and each level has alot of collectables to unlock, some are in difficult areas meaning you have to replay to find them all each level has its own gimmick and mechanic which makes them all unique and the art stlye is painted and looks nice :3 game runs well on my mums laptop and is pretty cheap for how long the game is
Apart from the fact that this game is very difficult in some places and I find the controls to take some getting used to (compared to other 2D platformers), this game is really fun and suits my tastes exactly.
Jump into a world of quirky fun with this platform game! Sure, the graphics might have a homemade charm, but that's part of its appeal. It's a blast to play and seriously addictive. Definitely worth a shot for some laid-back, enjoyable gaming!
Wish there were more devs like this. Share this game with a friend!
Originally a $12.99 game that went free. The platforming movement is far too slick and inconsistent. Everything about the game, except the music, feels thrown together with little to no point or purpose.
