Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle, and you lost a coin in it. Impressive, enticing, frustrating, and in the end the coin turns out to be a chocolate one covered in mud. All Owlcat games.
Solid 8/10, Better than BG3 in some places, but the difficulty spikes will make you wanna punch a hole through your monitor, consider yourself warned.
130 hours of mostly fun gameplay, engaging story, and great characters. But the game definitely had its low points. In the end, I would say that this gigantic experience proved worthy of my time and left my digital storage with a great taste in my mouth. This is a game of choices, and the choices don't end with the story. The combat and character building are extremely open to choices as well. I loved the Pathfinder combat. It is complex and open to experimentation. You may not know how to make the ideal build for a character but trial and error will lead you to somewhere you like whether it is entirely optimal or not. Every unique item and level you get opens up a new possibility to further specialise or improve your character. Each and every companion has a unique starting point you can branch out from, or make your own companions from scratch, thanks to the Pathfinder Society. I would definitely play this game again and again, try new builds, make new choices, open up new paths if it wasn't for the whole conquest thing. GOD, THE CONQUEST THING. Easily the worst part of the game. Takes a ♥♥♥♥ ton of time, kills your enjoyment, makes you forget what you are playing AND it is necessary to get good and special items. Man, ♥♥♥♥ that. Easily the worst decision Owlcat made was making this part of the game as important as it is. If I ever play this thing again I will try mods and settings to bypass this as much as I can. The story is wonderful. You feel the effects of everything you do as you go through the game. Many choices you make change some internal counter that in turn affects some character's attitude towards you. While there is some cheesy dialogue, some stereotypical characters, and some boring moments I can safely say that the story was great and made me think about some of the choices I made. The companions were mostly great. I enjoyed the writing and the side adventures I took with them. Just be careful what you say to them. Exhausting every dialogue option, for example, can lead to disapproval from some companions. I will be back for this game one day for a different mythic path. Until then, I will keep this playthrough as a fond memory. Definitely not for everyone, but if you like a complex CRPG, go for it.
boring
A história do jogo é simplesmente incrível.
4/10.
A dream for min max dnd players. Interesting party characters and stories. I know im just 10 hours into the game and despite beeing a huge pen and paper fan i honestly have to say, this is all im willing to spend. Things that keep me from playing are not going to change. Broken or not working skills while they should. All requirements met, yet no effect or animation happening. The feeling that while i should have an action left by the rules but no further action possible. The combat system is what you get. Realtime or turn based. A no brainer for this genre. Yet it feels simply broken. A hurdle without knowing exactly why. 10+ character combat phase? You have the choice: 30 minute or more in turn based or switch to realtime and watch how ai does it in 2. In general a good game, but just not for me
2 Improvements from Kingmaker: - Swarm-type enemies are no longer as annoying as they were in Kingmaker. YES! Swarm is no longer immune to melee attacks, including bows. - Changes to kingdom management make it less "rushed" for the player since there's no time limit and no risk of failure. What I like and don't like about WotR: Likes: A. The amount of content is massive! Including DLC content, optional side content, and companion quests. B. Replayability is extremely high thanks to the Mythic Path system — the main story can play out in many different ways. C. Class building is a ton of fun: there are Mythic abilities and feats, a wide variety of supporting items and equipment, and you can keep stacking them! Dislikes: A. Only a few companions truly click with me (personality-wise, not gameplay-wise). My connection to the companions in Kingmaker was much stronger. Nenio is the most annoying, but I have to use her! B. The scale is too grand (fighting demons), so the roleplaying feels a bit less immersive. In Kingmaker, the focus was on building your own kingdom, which fit perfectly with roleplaying.
