A frustrating mess. The physics-based controls are clunky and unresponsive, making movement a chore. The "fun" chaos just feels like jank, and public lobbies are often empty. Not worth the hassle.

"Party Pie: Free Pie" is a VR exclusive ripoff of Stumbleguys from China, and it's bad, so bad. The developer makes a noble but ultimately unsuccessful attempt to do what so many amateur developers dream of; to get the players to create all the content so the developer doesn't have to. What do you do in the game? Nothing, there's no players. You can just log on and look around I guess. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. It's important to note that, despite this being such a low quality product, there's a number of positive reviews that all appeared immediately after the game launched, all in Chinese, from suspiciously inactive Steam accounts that have reviewed almost no other games apart from this. Take the review score of this game with a grain of salt. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

It's even worse than the acual Gorilla Tag. I didn't think something could be worse. But it is.

last time i played something called "party pie" it ended with the hot sticky seed of at least a dozen different men buried deep within my rectum. this was just some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ VR game. dont play.
