"Paradigm Shift" is a badly made RPG Maker asset flip (with a few custom assets from the "developer", we can tell these are custom because they're crap) and the usual high school anime club dropout fanfiction cringefest writing. Of note is that the developer is one of the very rare few that worked out how to use one of the RPG Maker MZ 3D modes... which is just as bad as the 2D retro pixelcrap modes. It's also abandoned Early Access, the developer hasn't touched this for about half a year, and it's been in development hell for over 3 years. This is never getting finished, and player counts show nobody wants it to be anyway. This has some really mediocre looking graphics that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarly visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. Insultingly, the developer insists that you should play this with a console peasant children's toy gamepad instead of KB+M. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're designing games for. It's the responsibility of the developer to ensure the game runs well on the platform they're selling it on, with the primary peripherals that PC gamers use. It's free for now, but the developer intends to charge for this if it ever leaves Early Access... but considering the poor public reception, it's likely this will not be one of the 25% of games that ever gets finished and leaves Early Access. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

Paradigm Shift is an outstanding RPG Maker-made game with an eccentric yet spectacular style. Each character has a unique style, and the dialogues are hilarious. Despite having skills and different attacks as many RPG games, this one has a unique feel, which also helps to understand and stick to each character. PS also mixes and shifts from 2D to 3D gameplay often, making maps way more interesting and enjoyable. Another thing to mention is that this game is set in a contemporary world, contemporary scene and contemporary characters, which is something not really seen often. It gives an air of freshness and a nice known atmosphere that will make you enjoy the game anytime you play it. Also [SPOILER ALERT] despite of being the world in havoc, the character dialogues are so funny that will even make you want to join the apocalypse! The game is still under development, yes, it hasn't been officially launched yet, so it has some things yet to polish, however picking it up in the beta is totally worth it. Also will give you a nice context of what will happen and how. Some not-so-hard puzzle elements will make your brain work just the necessary as well. To sum up, a really enjoyable, fun to play RPG game with hilarious dialogues, a good set up, nice atmosphere, that you will enjoy playing anytime, no matter if you have 5 hours to put into it a day or 10 minutes only, it's totally worth it.
Really nice game. It brings me back to the good old days of Gameboy advance and just chilling after school without a care in the world. The storyline is pretty funny (WARNING: Some bad language use) and the characters have some of the weirdest moments but I can tell you it gets better and worth it. The fight between the enemies are really cool so you gotta check them out. Can't wait for the full release!
The game is quite fun and i love the storyline of the game. And the game is FOR FREE!! so get it and enjoy while u can!
