I wanted to give this a chance but the bar for applications eligibilities of being listed in the Steam Store Store is way too low, it seems. Yes, it is free, but so are many actual working apps and games, for browser, iphone, PC, etc. This does not belong here, it's not even early access.
Less than 10 seconds in, I am greeted with the sound of my soundcard threatening to crash. And it was not the last time it happened. The main menu's Options crash the game. Every. Single. Time. And the -w and -h advanced launch options from Steam just don't work. Clearly this game is for hardcore oldschool gamers still using 640x480 on their CRT screens. Then while in a New Game, there is no Escape to get you to the main menu. Just Alt+F4 I guess?
The UI is an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, with nothing stopping you from leaving dialog windows open and overlapping, which would be fine if we would be able to move them and arrange them in a neat fashion where they are readable. https://imgur.com/a/NwYNtTw
Cus asking the UI to auto arrange is so 2005. And this game has UI worse than games made in 2000. There's also a big fat X in the sky, just hovering over the stuff I build, cus of course everything is bugged in this game.
The translations are incomplete, I saw a line or 2 of German text even though I selected English.
The menu on the left is completely left to the player's imagination, as the tutorial only covers the bottom menus, slightly.
The streets autorotate I guess, but the houses do not. So as soon as I built my first house, the inhabitants just left, cus reasons. The first one being in German.
So it's impossible for me to comment on the actual gameplay, since everything else stood in my way. I really wanted to give this cutesy game a try despite its average score. I think writing this review took longer than what I dedicated to playing it, and it's still way too much undeserved effort.
Idk who to contact to have someone remove this from the Store. At least it's not malware?...
