This game is garbage. Every update creates more issues that don't get fixed. Micro lag and stutters are pretty much constant. Controls for the horse are an abomination. Game is directed at the lgbtq+alphabet people and outfits are very much directed towards a more feminine aspect. They also state this is a cozy relaxing game which is also garbage, the fishing and cooking can be very frustrating and the hotpot game is basically designed to feed a gambling addiction. There is a toxicity about this game too, it's a multiplayer game that does force players to seek help with some things yet also pushes players to play solo because of the nature in the way it is designed. For instance, flow tree's, these need multiple players to chop them down, unless they are the very small ones, and in many cases this causes frustration because it can be quite difficult to find people to help, even when asking in chat. There are groves that spawn multiple flow tree's that the community has deemed a time for them to be chopped which is usually good, unless it is ruined because some players don't want to wait. Other times nobody shows up. The multiplayer element is held back by garbage servers that tend to lock up if too many players are in the same area and even if you are in your own plot, sometimes when you want to leave it won't save and you need to try multiple times before it lets you. The maps are fairly big and for the most part empty which means there is alot of running around hoping you find what you need. NPC's get lost at times because a quest gets bugged and the npc just doesn't show up anywhere. Input lag is also really annoying. Pressing F let's you activate stuff, yet most of the time there is a delay or in many cases you need to press F multiple times. Hitbox issues seem to be growing more and more too. Chopping tree's, mining nodes or whatever has gotten to be a hassle as sometimes when doing so it doesn't always do what it is supposed to do. The correct sound is playing yet the blue bar does not show. You move a little, try again and maybe you get lucky although sometimes it takes a few attempts before you get the right spot now. Some nodes are even floating in the air which makes it impossible to mine them. The main story is decent to be fair.

Super cozy and laid back! Also everyone I have met online is so nice, and the gameplay is very easy to figure out. highly recommend to anyone who likes foraging games.
Its a very chill game that's about community and helping others through building relationships with other players, both human and NPC. I recommend it for anyone who wants to just play and build something and not worry about getting it torn down. The game is still technically in beta and there are sometimes issues and glitches, but overall the experience is good and I'm enjoying it. I come from other RPG, like WOW, Diablo and Star Trek Online, and this game does set itself apart from those in a good way.
So fair warning, this review is coming from a new player (Started less than 2 months ago w/ <200 hours) who got into this game after seeing videos of the mounts and farm animals with breedable cosmetic and non cosmetic traits and the content surrounding it. As a die hard horse girl from the time I could walk, I have searched for the perfect horse game that has that "pick up and play" feel with a good community. Now saying all that, this is not a horse game and do not expect that, but if you are willing to sacrifice the realistic horse/animal aspect of a game this fantasy MMO will scratch that itch. Not in the satisfying way that this game absolutely can and should, but I would safely say it could replace a lot of player's daily games until that game comes around. Here is my short list of grievances: 1. Start of game is an absolute grind-fest and lack of direction is a real issue. Thankfully the community has helped with this so asking for help is very easy and there are walkthroughs posted by multiple people for anything you have trouble with. 2. Lack of instruction/direction by itself. It's important to list this as it's own point because tutorials literally guide players on how to play your game, and you CANNOT just give them half the instructions and let them guess the rest. i.e. Placing one of each cooking station down and thinking you can cook whatever you want now when in reality, some recipes require duplicates of certain stations. The current set up/indicator does not work new players trying to figure things out. 3. Reasonable Storage/Capacity limits. Now again, I'm a new player who just unlocked paladian storage chests, so I'm not feeling squeezed there at the moment (however I can definitely see where later on down the line when I start decorating my plot and getting into money making etc. that there will need to be some management on my own hoarding tendencies to stay happy there). My REAL issue with this game is HOW ARE YOU GOING TO CAP OUR FARM ANIMALS AT 30 AND KEEP INTRODUCING MORE BREEDABLE ANIMALS WITH COSMETIC TRAITS?!?!?!???? This is the most asinine bottle neck of this game and it absolutely infuriates me. There is already a system in place that negatively impacts the production of your animals if you are keeping more than the recommended limit (VERY FAIR!) but then how are you going to reasonably expect to have FOURTEEN breedable farmstock, ALL with their OWN COSMETICS that you can try to breed for, and then tell players they can only have 30 animals on their farm to breed/raise. So unless you would like to take months/years to try to breed all the cosmetic traits you want with 2-3 animals at a time... you are forced to focus on one animal at a time, breed the cosmetic traits you want, spend coins or time to age them up so you can retire them and gain a free spot back on your farm. As an adult player who likes to spend money on games for fun cosmetics and mounts, this set up specifically makes me not want to spend any more because I'm paying to not have a good time at this point. That is what I ran into with the Phoenixfire mount and would definitely like to warn off others until there is a better system in place. That being said, I still play the game daily and have do have fun. It's a great fantasy/cozy game MMO that's overall pretty low-commitment. But I cannot in good conscience recommend this game when it's actively taking money, hand over fist, from players paying to unlock mounts with real money, and then bottlenecking and almost punishing them when they try to utilize the system to try to breed the one they want.
very addictive but relaxing game
Very nice, chill and cosy game that you can get lost in for hours and hours. I love it!
Palia is my soulmate of the game world. Cozy, play at your own pace, and keeps me busy. Here are my thoughts more in depth: -House building and decorating is unmatched, however I wish more house pieces were able to connect to each other. - Free to play and your choice to purchase from the premium shop does not hinder your ability to advance in the game which is great for those who don't or can't spend money. - I will say, the premium shop is excessively expensive and the fact that single pieces of clothing can't be purchased without purchasing the entire outfit has always been absurd to me. - I love the interactions with the villagers and all their different personalities. The downfall to this however is their dialogue gets SUPER repetitive especially after you've maxed out the friendships and romance. - I ADORE the map and the open world exploration. There are so many creatures to find and random activities to do in each of the areas. - I will say though, the new expansion of the Royal Highlands was kind of disappointing to me. It took me so long to fully explore the Elderwood and get my bearings in that area, but the Royal Highlands didn't really add much in my opinion and it was super easy to get through despite it being the biggest exploration area. (Crab Wars helped me like the Royal Highlands more) - There is ALWAYS something to do in this game and it keeps me locked in for HOURS upon hours. - I'm addicted to Hotpot. - When a new update comes out the new main story quests take me all of 30 minutes to complete which is a little sad. I like doing the story quests more than anything else because it gives me something to actually work towards, and now after being caught up with everything it's kind of a let down. I will say it did take a long time to get caught up with the main story when I first started playing the game, but I still wish more of the story was added in the updates. - I can't get hurt. I'm not the kind of person who plays combative games like Elden Ring, I like the calmness of Palia and not really having any consequence for anything. - Cooking gets repetitive and boring, it is my least favorite skill to work on which is unfortunate because you have to consume SO much food in this game even after leveling up at the shrines. I've heard that cooking parties are a blast and you can make so much money from them, but I'm a religiously solo player thanks to being socially awkward, so I haven't gotten there yet. - The overall Palia community is VERY nice. There are some exceptions, as there are with other communities and our world, but I've seen nothing but kindness in the year and a half I've been playing this game. To finish; I know it looks like I complained a lot about this game, and there are a lot of things this game could change/fix/add, but this game is literally my soulmate game. It keeps me busy because there is always something you could do. It's so cozy and play at your own pace which I LOVE. I think Palia is the best cozy open-world game out right now, it just needs more love and time to grow into something exceptionally beautiful.
why the freak does it take so long to get a horse, it seems like the only interesting thing in this game but it takes so long. and everything to basically customize and enhance the gaming experience is behind a paywall
I'm new to the game, tbh I would like to love the game but I've noticed some issues. I keep on getting crashes every 5-10 mins, like others. I thought it had something to do with my driver but after updating and reinstalling it the same issue persist. I'm not sure if this is a recent update issue but so far... not so very fun. I also checked out the IAPs of the game and must say that it feels like such a money grabber as you look at it. If I remember correctly I opened the IAPs and there was a skin for 60€? now THats a lot of money that I will not be spending, especially on a skin. I could already tell from playing the amount that I have so far that this game will have a FOMO issue and the constant grinding (farming) is also going to be an issue.
