Outer Wilds

This game is not for everyone even though it is often universally recommended. I can appreciate what it tries to do, but the wonky controls are rather frustrating and it’s easy to get disoriented. I didn’t find myself enjoying it after a while so I stopped to play a game that interested me more. You might like it if you enjoy first-person 3D mystery and puzzle solving games. Game runs great on Steam Deck though.

I was recommended this game by a good friend. They wanted me to try it, claimed it was a good experience... I'm very glad I did. It's a puzzle game, but open world. The graphics are beautiful, the story is amazing to follow, and there are few games that have better music than this one. The challenges are tricky, yet always feel rewarding to complete. For someone who's not super smart when it comes to this type of stuff, I was able to figure it all out myself, spare a nudge just telling me to 'keep looking'. Out of all of the games in my library, if I had to choose one, this would be the one I choose to have a friend play.

Outer Wilds is a place where you are free, yet somehow so limited at the same time. Take your time, even though you have so little of it, and explore the entire solar system however you want. This game is simply phenomenal. I won't say much about the story, because calling it "very good" would honestly be an understatement. Outer Wilds is something everyone should experience completely blind, without knowing what awaits them. As for the music, it's simply beautiful. It's melancholic, emotional, and somehow even the simplest melodies can deeply move you. I finished the game yesterday, and I already miss it. Outer Wilds has definitely changed a small part of me, the part responsible for how I look at the world. It has genuinely affected the way I think about life, time, and the experiences we have along the way. I recommend this game to everyone. Go into it without spoilers, take your time, be curious, and let the game guide you wherever your curiosity takes you. I promise it will repay you with wonderful memories and unforgettable adventures. Outer Wilds is not just a game I'm glad I played. It's an experience I'm going to miss.
