I don't think its for me tbh
I review games after I 100% them and/or see everything there is to see in a game. check out my other reviews on my profile! ootp is a baseball gm simulator and one of my favorite video game series of all time.
fun game, you can create a custom league or use real teams and become the owner and take them the series

great sim game - very realistic
It's everything you want in baseball. You are the gm and the manager. The seasons go from 1876 I think and into the future, season by season. It's a lot of fun.
Great game for baseball fans and stat-heads. Take any MLB team from history and try to make it into a World Series champion over the course of several seasons. Salaries and free agency rules and expansion teams change each year as they did in real life. A lot of daily details to deal with, but you can customize and skip much of it if you want to run through the seasons quicker.
The out of the park series is incredible. The first one I tried was '12 I think. It was a gift from my brother who thought it'd be up my alley. I installed it (CD-ROM!) and fired it up. My first reaction was that I though it was overwhelming. I tried to start unemployed and work my way up and I got lost almost immediately. I came back to it a few months later and decided to start as GM of the Orioles (my ultimate life goal) and after a few hours getting acquainted with all of the screens and info (to my fellow baseball stat nerds please believe me you will not be disappointed) I was off. Since then I have been thoroughly addicted to multiple iterations of OOTP. If you are looking for a game where you play as a big leaguer and actually hit or pitch this is not that game. In game play you are limited to giving the hitter the sign to hit away, hit & run, bunt, take a pitch, etc. You are perhaps even more limited while pitching (pitch to, pitch away, pitch out, pick off). But the magic in OOTP lies in the off the field management. To anyone that dreams as I do of running their favorite ball club this game is everything you could want in as much detail as you would like. You can be George Steinbrenner signing the big free agents or you can be Branch Rickey micromanaging your rookie league teams. You can scour the amateur ranks for draft picks (OOTP has an impressive library of real upcoming draft picks) and build your team up through the draft. You can scour the minor leagues and find diamonds in the rough (anecdotally I can think of several instances of prospects that were highly regarded in OOTP before they were by ESPN or MLB). If you have ever dreamed of running a big league ball club this is absolutely the game for you.
