The eerie atmosphere is fantastic, coupled with the giant worm really sells the sense of scale. What I'm really not a fan of is the RNG with enemy locations and then having to completely restart from the beginning when you die. I also couldn't figure out the blood shrines for the life of me, its the most confusing game of Connect The Dots.
Now that you can toggle checkpoints, the game is way more accessible. It's totally cryptic and it gives you nothing, but when you actually figure out what to do, things get really interesting. You walk this balance between wanting to explore everything and not wanting to look at anything out of fear that it'll chase you down. Most of the time there's this really uncomfortable feeling of being watched. It's so effective. The *only* possible negative is that walking all the way across the map can get kind of tedious if you don't already know where the areas of interest are. The map isn't so huge that you can't do it, and you do have a brief sprint, so it's not the end of the world. Super good game.
I *love* the concept of being stalked by a titantic monster. I *don't* love literally everything else. The aesthetic is intentionally low-res and murky, the ambush mimics that hunt you are annoying, but worst of all is that if you die, you start all over again from the very beginning. ♥♥♥♥ that. I don't have time for this. That said, it's free, and its interesting. But for my part I got too annoyed to continue after restarting about 4 times. I'll just watch a playthrough.
Modern art, but as a game. It's obnoxiously ambigious and attempts to act mysterious by not explaining literally anything - which woldn't necessarily be such a huge negative if there was actually something intriguing about discovering gameplay aspects, i.e. if the ambiguity was well designed. 2.5 / 10 - Quite frankly, a waste of time, effort, and space.
